Re:

Is Avatar the last Airbender an anime?

My personal opinion is that I think it being an American cartoon makes it not anime, even if it is clearly anime-influenced, but while I voted "no", I don't care enough that I would actually get heated to find out someone disagreed.

no but honestly i dont care

if its good thats all that matters

Mm, arguably yes. But I consider anime different from what others might.

Okay so manga is the written content and anime is the animated content. But, anime is also a style of drawing which the Avatar series is pretty much done in. So yes, Avatar could be considered an anime due to the style it's drawn in. Not all anime or manga has to be straight from Japan in order to be called anime/manga.

No, I wouldn’t consider it an anime.

It IS a great show, however. :D

I voted for I don't care, mainly because I wouldn't argue with anyone about it, but I'm inclined to say no. I know anime doesn't have to come solely from Japan (I've watched Korean anime, for instance), but I just don't consider Avatar: The Last Airbender an anime for some reason.

I think anime is specifically an Japanese concept. Other countries have similar styles of animation, but I think the word "anime" can only be really used for Japanese animation (according to what wikipedia is telling me). AtLA is definitely heavily influenced by anime, but it's still just Western animation.

I don't know much about anime and I've never seen Avatar, but to me it seems like an American cartoon with anime influence.

I'm personally not voting in the poll because I consider it a blend of anime and American animation. Not sure if anyone else would share my sentiments.

Yes and no. It really depends on how people see it. Personally I think no, because it is American made and not Japanese made, but I could be wrong. I don't normally watch Anime, so I couldn't really tell the difference, so yeah.

No. It?s a western cartoon made in an anime style.

Not all anime or manga has to be straight from Japan in order to be called anime/manga.

That's kind of the definition though, hence why things like Panty & Stocking, Shin Chan and Godzilla Land are considered anime despite looking more like a Western made cartoon.

Though I really don't care if something is an anime or not, I just care if it's good.

It’s a Nicktoon, and one of my favorite cartoons of all time. But I’m pretty sure Ang was in a Nickelodeon cart racing game, and not on Crunchyroll, lol.

Is The Boondocks an anime? That’s the real question.

No, it's not an anime. It is not a Japanese cartoon, so it is not anime. Simple. I don't see why people are so insistent on calling it anime to begin with. Is there something wrong with it being a western cartoon? I think not.

The definition of an anime is a show made in japan and avatar was made in America. So no, it's not an anime
