Since my birthday is in October, Nintendo sent me 300 Platinum Points. I normally don't do much with my points. I used to get themes for my 2DS but since I've been playing on the Switch my points have just been gathering virtual dust. I figured I'd redeem the 300 points anyway because free points are free points. When I went to go redeem the points there was a Nintendo News story titled "Get cozy with new Animal Crossing: New Horizons rewards—just in time for fall!". I noticed the word "rewards" and wondered what was going on.
Nintendo is letting us use Platinum Points to get real life ACNH items! We do have to pay for shipping fees & tax but the items are "bought" with the points. I had enough points to get one of the Tom Nook Shopping Bags. (My shipping and tax came to only $5.33 USD.) I am so excited to be able to order some official ACNH swag since I missed out on all the pre-order bonuses! I wish I had had enough Platinum Points for the other bag offered so I could get both but I'm happy I was able to get anything. Unfortunately one of the ACNH items is already sold out but there are 3 items still in stock. There are also a couple of other non ACNH items that you can use Platinum Points for.
