So I got a refurbished Red 3DS XL (new one) and sometimes the brightness goes all the way up to 5 and sometimes goes down to 1. :/ Its weird and I'm not sure why this is happening xD

Also when I opened my refurbished one to put in the microSD the cracks on the back don't close all the way :/ not sure if I just didn't put the back on right. And would buying cover plates cover it up? I'm kinda OCD to these things haha

I think that the your New 3DS XL currently has the auto-adjusting brightness function activated, which brightens or darken depending on how much light the face camera is detecting. In HOME Menu, you can deactivate this function entirely by selecting the HOME and wrench icon on the top-left corner of the touch screen, and adjust the brightness settings from there.

I don't have a picture on how that crack from the back of your hardware looked like, so I can't tell if you did everything correctly. As long as the back cover is well-attached to the hardware, I don't see how the tiny opening would be problematic in the long run. Just keep in mind that you had to firmly insert the back cover in the designated holes before tightening the two tiny screws. When turning those silver things to the point they're emitting click.

For some reason though, I cant unscrew one of the screws. I don't know if I screwed it on too tight? :<<
