Reminder: We don't know everything yet

Very strange.
They can't not have Christmas if we don't download whatever it is we need.

Surely these are basic holidays that shouldn't need to be downloaded.

Not everyone celebrates or cares about Christmas. And they can because that's what they're doing lol. If you dont download the free update you dont get that holiday

I think for those that are stressing should wait until the game comes out and people have played it long enough to answer their questions, THEN buy the game if they so feel.
To me I look at this as a NEW game, yes it is animal crossing, but I don't want the same old same old. For those that feel this game deviates too much just keep playing your game cube, wii, or ds versions and play what you are used to. I don't see why people want the saaaaaaame game over and over with a few tweaks.
Personally I feel that they did a great job with what I see so far and I am super excited. We have so many options with this game and they can't make everyone happy. I do have concerns but I choose not to focus on those things.
Believe me, I love to what if and speculate on things, but after what I have seen in the direct there are so many cool things that those concerns I have seem trivial right now compared to all the things I am excited about.

I don't know. While I agree with your point of not freaking out, there's a big difference between being concerned something won't be included and being convinced that it's excluded for certain.

If it's a feature someone cares about, it makes perfect sense for them to be a bit worried imo.
Do all of you who think that's ridiculous really live life in a way where you're always perfectly content waiting for full confirmation without ever hoping for or dreading anything? Because if speculating about negatives is dumb, so should speculating about positives, right?

People also to keep in mind that, Nintendo wants us to find out most of things ourselves, As the game would be more fun and surprising that way. They just wanted to give us some main ideas of what the game will have.

I agree, but at the same time being worried about something in a game and worried about something in real life are two very different things. If worrying about whether a game will or won't have xyz is all I have to consume myself with I would consider my life to be pretty perfect.

I think if people like enough of what they see, buy the game...if they have too many concerns, then wait...if, after waiting, they still aren't happy, then maybe play the old games or just skip this installment.

Agreed! :)

I'm not wanting the same game, but at the same time I think it's beyond weird that normal in game holidays are now a downloadable event.

They had a year extra, surely these staples could have been added.
I'm not a fan of downloading ongoing stuff.

I don’t think it’s a matter of saying people shouldn’t be allowed to speculate to the negative, just that our fears can be eased by the fact that the direct didn’t necessarily show us every detail. :)

There's a fallacy in the presumption that that's all those people worry about, when most people are in fact fully capable of worrying about more than one thing at once—and capable of recognizing which of those worries are more serious than others.

For example, I'm currently worried about the lack of shown bushes in NH, the fact that I'm VERY behind on assignments, and my ever-growing student debt. All at once while simultaneously still having a great day and feeling good about school, myself, and New Horizons ^^

I have a theory about the free updates for the special events. Maybe they would like everyone to get a fair chance in the first year of events since theyre gonna roll them out during real life time. To give people a fair chance for those who dont time travel for the special events. (I'm not one of those people, I TT like a mofo) but maybe after the first year of holidays it'll be normal. But also the live updates will be cool if they change the event a little bit each year. I cant tell you how sick of paves stupid feather festival I am after the same thing for 6+ years
