Pokémon Reset?

Hi, so I am thinking about resetting my copy of Pokemon Ultra Sun. The main reasons being because of my character gender and because I feel like I choose the wrong starter. I initially wanted Rowlet, but I went with Popplio because I thought a Water-Fairy was just an amazing type combo. But now I just feel like I am missing out on playing with some really cool Water and Fairy types. At the same time, though, I am already on the third island and I am not sure if I want to beat all the challenges again.

What would you guys do in my situation?

You could trade for a Rowlet with yourself, someone else, or on the GTS, and then just bench your Popplio/Brionne/Primarina in favor of other Pokemon? If obtaining Rowlet isn?t an option you could always just bench Popplio/Brionne/Primarina and not use a starter at all, all in order to get the chance to play with more Pokemon you want to play with. Let me know what you end up deciding.

EDIT: I forgot you could also wonder trade a Pokemon you don?t want away and keep wonder trading until you get a Rowlet.

If I were in your situation, I would reset, especially if I'm not happy anymore with my character. I don't
like it if I have to stick with a character I may liked at the beginning but now want to change the name
or the gender. So I would reset, pick the right character and also the right starter. Sometimes, when I
reseted, I had the feeling that I did certain things better in my second run than I did in my first run. So
reset the game and start from new can sometimes be helpful. But of course it's up to you what you
gonna do at the end.

Personally, I'd reset the game. I'd always prefer to have the name/gender of character that I feel like fits me best. Plus getting the new starter pokemon, with your new character. I feel like you'd feel more complete in a sense. And while right now you feel like you don't want to fight the challenges again perhaps once you have reset and have all the things you want it'll be more fun to kick all those butts again.

If you want a Rowlet (or any other Pok?mon, really), I am happy to breed and send it to you. Of course you can change your outfits and character design as you go, but you are not able to change your sex. So if you prefer to switch it up, you might want to reset. On the other hand, maybe you've made some Pok?-friends that you want to keep with you...send them to a friend for safe keeping while you reset, then trade a bunch of caterpies back for them.

It is a real bummer that you have to go through all of the cut scenes again. That's the worst.

Okay, yeah, I reset. I now have my preferred name, gender, and Pokemon starter. It does suck that I have to beat the first four totem Pokemon all over again, but I have been able to put together a pretty interesting Pokemon team so far and I'm not even off the first island yet. So there's that.

Currently, I am trying to decide which Pokemon I want to bench: Meowth or Makuhita. I feel like I might use Meowth more because he uses Dark type moves and if I pair him with the Normalium Z, he might actually be descent in battle. But my gut says that a Fighting type is just more useful overall. Please, feel free to weigh in.
