Resetting Insanity

Lord help me, I've been resetting my copy of AC to get Whitney as a starter w/ a somewhat decent map layout for 2 days straight now.

This (lack of) luck is going to drive me to drink.

You can do it! It took me forever trying to get my current map, but I'm so happy with it. It's worth it in the end.

It took me 4 days of resetting to find a layout I was happy with. My starter villagers were also the worst!!

just curious, why are you trying to get whitney as a starter? i know its a bit annoying, but you could just buy her in after the fact.

Seems like it'd take longer to be able to afford her, than it would to randomly start with her. :^)

Resetting for anything is beyond annoying in this game. Plot resting and villager resetting could be made so much simpler if they added it as a proper option. I tried doing the campsite trick to get marshal ages ago, I must have spent 3 weeks on and off attempting it, I didn't have a smug at the time so I would have thought it would be so much easier to just cycle through smug villagers and he would be bound to appear at some point. But no....I seemed to get every other smug but Marshal. Even got Julian twice. In the end I ended up buying him off the forums here

Has Whitney, Tammi, Caroline, Hugh & Vladimir.

I think the less Nintendo know about what we like to do, the better. Because they always ruin things. They think they're making things easier for us, but they're actually just making things more confusing than they really need to be.

If you love the Stalk Market it might be ok; otherwise that is a long walk to sell from the island.
I totally understand wanting Whitney. I've never had her but I have a lot of wolves in one of my towns and I'd love to have her so I totally know the wanting.

I've decided to stick with the layout, especially considering Phoebe was the first villager to move in.

If it were up to me you're probably better off just getting a decent map and then moving Whitney in later so you'll have complete control over her house placement. Or once you get a good map you could try the plot resetting trick and eventually have Whitney's plot show up. If not, I wish you the best of luck with the resetting and don't give up! or settle with a map you don't want.
