and many places are holding celebrations,

there is some sad news to report:

the legendary English-American actor, Peter Mayhew, who played the original Chewbacca,
has passed away at the age of 74.

I read about Peter Mayhew's passing a few days ago and it made me very sad. I'm not a huge Star Wars fan, but I've seen the original trilogy and Chewbacca was one of my favorite characters. I used to have a dog that sounded like Chewbacca when he would howl and I always wished I'd named him Chewy because of that.

Rest in peace, Peter Mayhew. You were an icon.

Omg, that’s so sad. I want to watch Star Wars again just to see him as Chewbacca in it. I propose a group howling of Wookies to honor him. May the fourth be with him.
