It all happened in the blink of an eye.
One day, there was news about a drug that caused people to act like a zombie. As scary as that was, it was highly unlikely that would change your life dramatically. Soon people forgot and when the next report came that somebody had zombie-like characteristics, nobody reacted. It would all be settled easily and nobody had anything to fear.
They were wrong.
This infection grew and grew until most of the world had been eaten up by it. The survivors had grown cruel and heartless, and there were so few of them, it was nearly impossible to group up. The dead had come in such masses, eating away at the few animals that were left to roam. Humanity was forced to distrust one another in their time of need.
Although, some had hope. There were refuges set up, and they were safe. They grew crops and worked as a team and there were little to no infected inside. It was awful what they had to do to stay alive, and though they tried to regain what was lost, it could never return. Outsiders were no longer allowed in, which means you, survivor, are trapped outside. Good luck.
