[Roleplay] The Aftermath

“I think you had some sort of seizure. It wasn’t pretty.” I say. “Jade and that other kid, Grayson I think were there. Last time I saw him though I nearly cooked him like a potato in that fire…” I zone out, then snap back. “Anyway, as long as it doesn’t happen again, I’m sure you will be fine.”

I notice a girl I haven't met walk in and I pick up my mop and now empty bucket. "Who are you?"

I notice Dawn, and I say with exaggerated disdain, "You've forgotten my name already? I'm Helix, but you can call me insulted."

I turn back to Jean. "I had a seizure...?" Then I begin to remember all the horrible things I'd heard and seen, and I clutch my head. "Sorry. I still have a massive headache."

 

[CommanderLeahShepard]

“That’s understandable, you had a seizure” I say. “Do you remember anything about the ‘candy’ you ate? That was most likely the cause of it. Did you take it off someone? Did you eat it off the floor? That doesn't sound very hygienic."

"oh, sorry, helix," I say, embarrassed. "I'm not the best with names."
I look around for some tree bark. After finding a old looking tree, i take some bark off and give it to him.
"Here, chew on this," I say. "Ancient people chewed on tree bark to cure their headaches. Or was that toothaches...?"

I look over at the person with a mop.
"Oh, hi, I'm Dawn," I say.

 

[CommanderLeahShepard]

"I'm Jean." I tell her, then use my mop to wash the floor.

"I, uh... I took them off of Sage. But now that I think about it... I think I heard blood-girl talking about candy when I left the hut last night..." I remember another voice from my nightmare. I don't know whose it is, though... Helix isn't strong enough to come yet, it had said.

I take the bark from Dawn and try chewing on it. After a few minutes of chewing, I start to grow drowsy... What? You just woke up! My brain screams, but my body won't listen. Maybe... it's some sort of... anesthetic... I fall back asleep.

(btw, Helix still doesn't know Rena's name )

"Just as a thought, I'm not accusing anyone of anything," I say as I sweep my mop around. "Do you recon they had anything to do with your seizure?"
(I wasn't online when the seizure started, why was it?)

I notice him falling asleep, so I decide to poke him with the dry end of the mop. "Hey, are you going to sleep?"

(Yeah, the candies are laced with drugs or something, so when Sage and Helix ate them, they got high. Helix's trip didn't go as well as Sage's did )

Luckily, Jean prods me back awake before I lose consciousness. "Sorry..." I say, rubbing my eyes. "I think that bark has the same stuff in it as the gas from the monsters. Maybe it's part of their diet when they can't eat any of us..."

"I'm going down to the stream to get some water," I say. "I'll be back in a few minutes."
I head down towards the stream, carrying a bucket. I look around about halfway there, and see something unexpected.
A trunk? Why here? Did someone go camping and forget this?
I go over and open up the trunk, revealing some clothes.
"Finally!" I yell, happy to have some new clothes. I close the trunk and pick it up, hoping to share what i've found with the others.

 

[CommanderLeahShepard]

"That makes sense." I tell him. "I wouldn't chew on bark even if it wasn't laced with that gas thing."
I notice Dawn leave but I don't say anything. (I might try and make Jean friends with Dawn.)

"To be honest, I usually wouldn't chew on bark either." I chuckle. "It just seemed mean to refuse." I rack my brain, trying to remember who the guy I had heard in my dream was.
