Roses?

Are roses more rare in New Horizons than in previous games?
I haven't seen any at all, and in threads where people are talking about what flowers their Nook store stocks almost nobody ever mentions roses. I know it's possible for people to get roses as a native flower, because I've seen screenshots, but does anyone have them as a stocked flower in their store?
Or am I just unlucky?

I heard a rumor that your flower seeds rotate in the shop every month... Not sure how true this is as me and my friends don't time travel, but if that's the case, check tomorrow to see if you have rose seeds!

Otherwise I think you're just unlucky. From my understanding there's a 1/8 chance you get roses as your native flower as there are 8 flower types.

I've seen them as people's native flowers and bought them from Nooks from other people's islands. They pop up on the mystery islands too if you're lucky.

Oh good, there's still hope!

Not only am I unlucky, but I play with 4 friends pretty regularly and none of them have ever had roses in their shops, or found them through other means.
