He keeps giving me maps with stupid private beaches and tiny strips of land.

Anyone else constantly have times where all 4 of Rover's maps SUCK?

Private beaches are awesome for breeding hybrids though...

When I did map resetting I went through at least 60 maps before Rover finally gave me a nice one that I liked, so yes I feel ya !

You don't like private beaches? Those are awesome, when you get a wetsuit you gain access to the secret island. Its like seeing another world inside a world but you cant access it until you reach a certain part of the game. :)

There are some maps that I don't like when he gives you them, he can be a little annoying sometimes.

Oh my gosh I LOVE private beaches! I wish so badly that I had one.

It sucks because I bought a second copy of the game so that I could use that one to restart whenever I wanted, but I'll just never be attached to that town like I am my main town. It would be so cool if you could alter your landscape after the fact. I pretty much chose the first layout that I was offered when I started my main town ;___;

Edit to add: my layout isn't even that bad, I just wish I knew when I first started the kind of options that would have been available to me. I remember the first time I saw a private beach, I was stunned, lol.

i agree w you ami, private beaches are garbage i hate them so much

but yes. over my 5 copies ive reset literally countless times all because of rover being a failwhale

One time while resetting, Rover showed me 3 out of 4 maps that were almost all the same except maybe one pond was missing or the plaza and retail were switched. It was really annoying. I also don't like horizontal maps so resetting for 3 days was a nightmare.

I /hate/ maps with ponds right in front of the train station.

When I was searching for Cosmos and Sunicove's map, literally 90% of the time there was a pond infront of the train station.

And your not the only one with that problem, I hate ponds in front of the train station too.

I kind of want to get a second copy of the game just to have a "pretty" town and spread patterns everywhere and such. My current town is very practical, but it just doesn't have a lot of flash. The layout is alright for paths though, the only issue is villagers dropping their houses on top of them as usual.

I'm not sure what my dream map would look like though...I guess something where all the villagers are all together in neat rows so I can landscape in peace!

I have a tiny private beach, they seem really sweet at first but I never do anything there at all, I think I'll eventually just plant some hybrids there. And I think I'm the only one but I love narrow strips of land :3 my town feels pretty cramped and I love it that way hehe.

But boy, yeah, was I sick of rover. I think I reset for like a week straight but it was worth it!

haha yeah on release day i was resetting for a good 3 hours before i finally got the one map i wanted...

I hate when Gulliver washes up on mine when I'm on with a character without a wet suit. Argh!!!

But yeah...Rover gives out really lousy maps a LOT. I would be shocked to ever see a decent one the first several times, and I'm no longer brave enough to just go with one of the first few he shows me because I know I'd grow to hate my town and I don't want that again. I'm still paying for that mistake...

haha yeah on release day i was resetting for a good 3 hours before i finally got the one map i wanted... well, it didnt help that i was resetting for one exact map layout with exact building placements. if i took it farther and kept resetting for all that + triangle grass i woulda been there so much longer. i was so mad cause i got the game way earlier than everyone i knew, like, i was the first person to buy the game in person in my city, but i started way later haha :\

im glad i didnt get a private beach town... maybe? i dunno. as someone whos never had a private beach it seems kinda cool... but i never dive around anyway, so its also kinda useless. seems kinda useful to have one long stretch of beach for when youre ocean fishing intown tho. that said, i wouldnt want any other map layout, so theres no point in thinkin bout it now eh?

I wish I would have been smart enough to restart on release day. ;___; Having played CF, WW and the GC version, I can't believe I was so silly to just pick what I was given. I honestly didn't even look at my starting villagers, I just.... started, and that was it.

I'm starting to have mixed feelings about private beaches based on some comments here. I'd probably always forget my wetsuit when I went fishing/on the beach so it might end up being a pain in the butt. Never having had a private beach (despite 2 towns), I can't really be sure how I feel about them, I guess!

That is my biggest reason against the private beach. I WANT GULLIVER TO GIVE ME STUFF!!!!! I mean...I want to help my friends.....

My map has a private beach and I love it. It's so useful for keeping random stuff (hybrids, like people have said) and it's fun. It has a main beach as well. I wouldn't say it has tiny strips of land, there isn't a lot of sand on the beach but the rest of the town has a lot of room for clusters of houses and stuff like that.
