What are these seashells? and what can you do with them?

Yeah, they're a substitute for welcome bells that were given to new members. You can buy account add-on's with them such as name changes and user title colour change. If you go to the "shop" tag then "Kapp'n's Seaside Shack" you'll see them & what you can use them for.

you can use them to either get a feature to use gifs for your avatar (for all of your seashells), username change (also costs all of your seashells), avatar width expansion, user title color change and those mailboxes.
