Second Floor

Hello all,
When designing a house.. can I make the second floor bigger?

I've gotten pretty far in the game having completed the entire town. I don't have the whole catalog nor have I done houses for every character so I'm unsure if I haven't unlocked a particular feature that would allow that but as far as I've gotten you can only use the formats provided when you select a "house build" so unfortunately no.

im pretty sure it gives you the option to resize rooms if you remodel or rebuild a house for a villager/npc you've already designed for

No, only the main room can keep getting expanded- to a point, but the secondary rooms, ie upstairs/basement/side rooms they all are the same no matter what.

I've played this game almost to completion. What Pika said is true.

I wish the game included the option to add more than 2 other rooms and also to expand the rooms. I like to make my house ideas in this game before trying to track down items in New Leaf, but it has to be over a span of many different villagers and I sometimes forget who has what room I had in mind.

My question is, how do you even get the second floor in the first place?
