Out of curiosity, what happens if an odd number of people sign up? (ie. 27 people) Are they left without a pair or does someone make two pieces?

If it's just one extra person, I usually do the extra art, otherwise I utilize the section of the form where it asks if you'd like to do extra art ^^

It should work like a circle anyhow; so if there are artists A, B, and C:
A makes art for B
B makes art for C
C makes art for A

Hopefully everyone can make it! I've signed up as a backup, too. Just hoping my winter travels do not interfere...

It turns out that I just wasn't making art yet. It feels like forever, but I just picked up digital art in February. What a year to reflect on!

I've been doing it for, like, five years according to google docs LOL
there was one year I was busy, I guess, and someone else did it for me

but ik last year a lot of people told me they chose not to sign up either because they didn't feel confident in their art, or because they forgot to sign up lol
so I hope people will sign up this year, regardless of what their 'art level' is ^^

Spoiler: Background rant about my art journey

OK, real talk, I used to draw a bunch in high school (early 2000s cough-- old lady--cough). I've lost a lot of dexterity since then and having a decade+ break from making art really shows how much a person can atrophy when they ignore a skill.
But to clarify, I didn't start drawing in February 2021-- only transitioned from a pencil sketchbook to the digital medium. My last entry in the sketchbook was dated in 2007 with some Avatar the Last Airbender fanart, lol:
