yeah i mean no offense but id rather not get a piece from someone who has never drawn in their life after i spend 3+ hours on my own.

also plenty of secret santa events on dA do do the skill level thing, so..

You still could though. The point of a Secret Santa is to make something nice for someone and from your heart. Its supposed to be a gift. As long as you put your all into it, which you can do, it does not matter who your gift goes to. Jint and ardrey for example (who I am a fan of both's style) could make something for each other but it doesn't have to just be limited to people who draw with as little or much detail as they do. You could make art for ardrey, ardrey could make art for kianli, kianli could make art for me, and I could make art for whoever else I feel like giving a gift to.

I just really think it should be up to the artist. Just do it out of the heart and for good will, to make a nice and memorable gift for someone.

its usually done loosely, theres a margin of error for stuff like this but to say its totally impossible is wrong is all im saying

Maybe people could request people they're interested in drawing for, and also based loosely on skill level, I could match them up...?

yeah just if their around the same level on the pyramid, find someone who matches around there and let them do art for each other. You should judge on what level people go in. 1 being the lowest and 5 being the highest. Like no one wants to receive a Kik finger sketch for a 2+ hour piece of art. No offense lol

i mean honestly i still think the basic format of randomly picked works best, as long as everyone agrees to all do like a fullbody or smth, and if anyone gets anything thats traced, then there can always be people who agree to do something for another person if they get something that isnt the standard of what you should get?? im taking part in a few fe and voltron ones on tumblr atm and the way that worked was that you had a specification of what ou had to produce (like no sketches, fully colored, full shaded, more then a headshot) and that seems to be working well for everybody ^^ (ill link u if you want to see the rules etc for example)
