Series 2 NA Amiibo Cards Januray 22nd LOL

Agreed with most of this thread. And I'd like to point out, not every person's goal is to "finish up series 1". A lot of people are, yes, but there are still those out there (like myself!) who are just collecting the cards they really wanted, not the entire deck, because I don't have a lot of extra money to spend.

And on top of that, Japan already has them and Europe is getting them within the month... so why do we need to wait an extra two months or so? Is there a problem in production? I don't know...

are people seriously *****ing about having to wait one extra month between sets compared to Japan?

you jokers are hilarious

What?
Most people are comparing it to when they're coming out in Europe (this month) not Japan. I've long accepted that Japan will get Japanese things ahead of me :p
This just seems like a really poor business move, since it doesn't coincide with the holiday season, so they'll get less casual sales, and people who are really gung-ho about the amiibo cards will be more likely to just import them now. (I may have just made a Play Asia order >_>)

yeah its 3 months not one, i actually thought they made some logistical placement error trying to put all amiibo things together, cause it didnt make sense to delay this release so long.

anyway i dont really care when what is coming out or not.. its just strange..

It could be worse though. In the Europe direct, they showed Mega Man Legacy Collection, but there was no mention of the Gold Mega Man amiibo. It looks like Europe won't get it along with Gold and Silver Mario.

I'm talking about the time delay between releases per region using Japan as a baseline (since all sets have to get released there first pretty much before anywhere else even has a chance), and not it being released in Japan before anyone else

Japan series 1: 7/30/15
Japan series 2: 10/29/15

wait period of around 3 months

USA series 1: 9/25/15
USA series 2: 1/22/16

wait period of around 4 months

Europe is just really oddball compared to both of these when it comes to releasing. Like they were the last major region to get the cards released, and now not even 2 months in will already be releasing the second set. Which just means that they'll have the longest wait period of any region for series 3, even if they still continue releasing a month after Japan.

Quite frankly I feel most sorry for them, because **** horribly inconsistent release schedules for stuff like this.

ah got ya..
but the long delay between japan and everwhere else for series 1 was only cause the game wasnt out here yet.. theres not much reason to not have the releases close together now that its out..
what if they delay series 3 too for the usa.. (wouldnt be surprised)..
anyway time to start nintendo hibernation..

to quote martin luther king: 'if noone's salty, there won't be change.'

I... guess?
idk, since the cards are an on-going, printed thing, my brain associates them more with manga translating/publishing schedules than video games ones- when a new manga gets picked up by a US company it's generally a while after it started in Japan (obvs), so the publisher releases a bunch of volumes at a much quicker rate than they were in Japan to catch up, and then once it does catch up they release the new ones shortly (maybe a month) after. Which seems like a more logical business model (it's not like cards take months of localization efforts like games do), but then again it's not like you can illegally download amiibo cards online so NoA doesn't really have the same impetus to release quickly.

yep, cause people do see on the internet what they are not getting and missing out on.. which nintendo stil hasnt quite understood.. i think..

Does anyone know any other site besides Amazon that's selling the Japanese boosters for a decent price? While I prefer having the English versions of the card, I think I might want to nab a couple Japanese ones.

it's all good ^^ everyone can complain. we're all up in the air atm anyway. so peace and salt for all.

@dunqui if youre in europe try amazon.es the 3 card packs are 3,95€ there which i think is the cheapest for english cards, they should have series 2 next week or preorder already. if you want the japanese cards you can try play-asia or yesasia(they have free international shipping if you spend 39$ or so, which playasia doesnt have and i recently read from someone who got damaged cards from playasia so idk.. depending on how much you're planning to spend might worth checking yesasia.)

I regularly pay attention to manga schedules and I don't see this trend either way at all. There are exceptions, but usually release speeds tend to be parallel with Japan, and if they do speed it ahead (typically not even by much to begin with, so just like a -1 month delay typically, meaning it would still take years to catch up) and catch up the new volumes are usually out anywhere from around a 3-5 month delay depending. Sometimes even later than that.
