~Welcome~

Pleased to meet you; I’m Rin, the the resident representative of this land. It was on one fateful 2nd of April that I, Sprocket and Flo embarked on a new journey. Under these pages, the tale of Shinsufiru blooms under the moon.

The island theme? It’s best described as “Whatever passes through Rin’s head”. Island decoration is a spontaneous sport, to the point where the isle is more of a collection of ideas than one or two coherent themes. Yet, it is how things worked from the start. It will probably be how things go all the time. Still, I have fun playing and that’s what matters mewst to me. ^^

One note: the first few posts from April to May are written from a past me. I decided to keep them mostly as is while rewriting this journal for archive purposes. Differences, such as how I write, will likely be due to that. I hope it is not too offputting.

~ Current/Past Villagers ~

Sprocket | Flo | Sherb | Vesta | Tangy | Blanche | Groucho | Cranston | Raymond | Chadder

Everyone is at least long term, but those in bold have found their forever home.
Anyone in italic is on the borderline between long term and foreverfiru.

In past times, Rosie, Eugene and Zucker lived on Shinsufiru. May the clovers bless them forevermore.

Colour hex codes: #260842 | #9365B8

With that, shall we begin?

"Cheesy Capers"

Today is on the uneventful side, for it's mostly a continuation of yesterday's story. You see, I'm pretty fond of the Lily of the Valley flower; very pretty looking to me. So when I found out it was gated behind having a 5-star rating, I couldn't help but go about trying to see if it was cheesable. This mission would go on for a few days as I searched for the conclusion to my curiosity.

This isn't even the full extent of it. There's fencing, hedges and furniture all over the place. Part of my brain wants to call the island "Disasterland". But it certainly is a 5-star island...somehow? Ratings are strange.
odMSOCQ3_o.jpeg

Or in less fantastical terms, I woke up to find a LotV blooming in the morning.
Now though...I believe it's time to clean up. If I wanted to reach my magic number of 3 I'd wait until two more bloomed, but I think it would be better for me personally to obtain them with less cheesy strats. :')

I don't know what comes after that. There wasn't much I was interested in at the stores today. Saharah does have the café-curtain wall on today's visit which is really nice! Between the coffee, tea and cat items I had already, maybe having a cat café would be nice now that I have this wallpaper.
Or it can just be another item I hoard. That too.

Here lays the end of entry 1.
Just in case there isn't another one later today, I wish everyone a good day/night~

“Time is a myth”

Well, this is supposed to be the 29th of April entry. However it's been the 30th for nearly two hours in my timezone, so I guess that makes me late. ^^; I admittedly don't much to show for pictures today because my playtime was spotty.

Today(yesterday?) was a pretty good day! Redd towed his boat onto the secret shore once more. This time, the only genuine painting was the common painting that was always real, so I purchased it from him. Though the fake famous painting was very tempting...Those eyebrows man, ahaha. Knowing that some fake art is haunted, it will make it harder to choose a real one if one of these ghostly entities is up for sale.

Celeste is visiting too! (Sorry, no public island openings yet) She gave me the recipe for a pansy wand, which I much appreciated. Pansies seem to be my sister flower or something; if it's not tulips on the mystery tours, it's pansies. Now I can use yellow pansies(favourite colour yay!) for something I like! Some shooting stars have passed, however I'm not sure if it's a proper meteor shower or not. I may have missed it due to my switch's battery needing to charge.

Island was cleaned up, Sherb gave me a recipe for a chic rose crown that I don't even have the hybrids for and a recipe for a bone doorplate washed up on the shore. The doorplate's pretty cute!

My playtime is not technically over yet, I wish to go on for a bit more. I will note that it is late, so there probably won't be another entry until...later today. My brain wanted to type tomorrow, but that's not true.

...I still haven't sorted out the dupe DIYs. I need to stop slacking off on that.

“Photo Pawty”

...I'm sorry for my terrible pun. :'D But today, there was quite a bit of picture taking. I did do usual resident representative things, yes, but many photos from the morning to the night hour. There's never enough photos to take! I want to take more photos. Before I go off rambling again, let me speak on today's circumstances. (I'm going to post these images out of spoiler for the time being as I want to see what looks better.)

Late morning visits~ I already felt that Sherb and Sprocket thought of each other as friends due to an event in a past day, so seeing the sweet goat at the resident robot's house sealed the deal in my head. I thought they wouldn't get along because of their personalities, but it seems these two are an exception! Sherb would later on annouce his idea about giving me a nickname, in which I had to turn him down because I prefer to just be called Rin. Sorry to break your spirit a little buddy...
As for Blanche, having such a cheerful reception made me smile. I invited her to this island because she stood out to me; her house is no different. There will certainly be future visits to Blance's house. And well, Blanche is a gem.

I felt like changing my house design today. Here's the choice I made. Perhaps some commonly picked choices...however, just because something is common doesn't mean it's instantly bad, no?

...I forgot to take a photo, but Kicks visited today. Bought a new bag from him; good to see him visiting!

Still don't really know what I'm doing. Despite this, I started the task of giving my island entrance a little more flair. I realise now there's some edges to the ponds that I forgot to curve, so that's a task for later/tomorrow. Eugene came by later, entranced by the sounds of K.K Folk playing on the lily player. Perhaps I ought to consider ordering a copy of the song for his personal enjoyment-he was there for a while!

There is an island idea which sprung into mind with this island entrance attempt, however the question of whether it would work well is currently one I cannot answer. Maybe I'm trying to think too far ahead of it, maybe I'm not thinking enough about future updates and new buildings they may bring. The idea is this-initially upon entering the island, it looks re-abandoned past the entry point. No homes in the nearby vicinity, just nature. The only evidence of anyone living on Shinsufiru is ruins of a house alongside a broken fence. The town hall/stores operate as normal, the campsite is still open, welcoming any tourist to its location...but there are no residents...
...Except there are residents, nestled deep within the island's forests and atop the hills. They...okay I'll admit, this is where my brain goes blank and can't figure out the rest for this proposition. But hopefully you might get an idea of what I'm thinking about. (Or not, which is fine too)

GnS2LtLL_o.jpg

Groucho seemed content under the gaze of the moon. Thought I'd say hi while I was working on the island entrance. He didn't wave the first time; guess he didn't see me? No worries though, there's no grief between us. Just another peaceful night in Shinsufiru for our resident bear.

Zucker is a sweetheart! I wasn't sure about today's outfit admittedly; hearing kind words is a surefire way to lift up the spirits! He thought these glasses would fit well, handing them over to me. I think they do go quite well together. I thanked him with glee~

Lastly, I ran into Vesta near her home. It seemed she was possibly in financial trouble as she asked if I'd like to buy these glasses from her. Wanting to help her out(and being a serial buyer of clothing items), I obliged. We later spent some time to observe the night sky, wondering what tomorrow will hold. A new month begins; Spring's final stretch. What may arrive in May? Only a Mayday may show the way.

...I lied. There is one more event I didn't mention on purpose. I learned a new reaction today! While I would usually do the writing, I think it's best told by my best friend Sprocket. I'll leave you with his message for everyone:

OehatO4n_o.gif

P.S: No, the dupe DIYs still haven't been sorted. One was traded much to my glee but the rest still sit in silence. I even got another dupe today. Procrastination is a blessing!...in my dreams.

I have a desire to write more about the villagers and maybe more about the island too(as in, thinking of a story for it). However I think I've made an error by only reserving one post. Oops. Perhaps it will still be fun to write about them; I like writing even though I don't write much. Maybe I'll wait on the island info until I have more of an idea what I'm doing, though. Regardless, using the reserved post to write about my personal feelings for each resident on Shinsufiru sounds like a nice idea.

Journal update today!
I got inspired from various other island journals on this forum and revamped parts of the journal’s formatting. I think it helps add some flair. ^^ The initial post has also received a rewrite. //(And then months after this post, I’d undo all of that formatting as well as rewrite the initial post again because it didn’t feel like me anymore, ahaha.)

Previously, this post was mainly written to announce the addition of the Resident Records, a section where I described my resident companions. However, due to my inconsistency with making additions(as well as coming back to find the picture formatting broken), this was removed as of 21/11/20. Thus, this is now a partially redundant post. But hey, there’s still a piece of history here below.

Here lies a snapshot of past times: the entrance to my island prior to the drift-induced hiatus. Various changes have occurred since then. Yet, to look back, to view the stepping stones of the present time...it can be nice, no?

End of recorded archives...and an edited one. Skipping to the present.

“Return to Treasured Times”

It has been a long time since I last wrote something here. So long that the feeling of “Do I remember how this works?” is quite apparent for me. I hope it will not dissuade me, for I want to write here once more. So I guess this can be considered another entry #1 in a sense, since it’s akin to starting anew.

Some particular notable changes since then include the airport entrance, There are few similarities to the last image recorded on this journal.
Digging into the album, I found one last memoir of the previous post’s entrance:
2BA8yVj5_o.jpeg

After Halloween had come and gone, I decided it was time to alter things. I felt no connection to the old entrance by this point and henceforth had no fear in starting anew. Now I share what exists in the present timeline:
S73ScFXm_o.jpeg

Another collection to the hoard of “Rin’s spontaneous ideas”. At first I used the stone path, however I ended up preferring the arched tiles much more. I time travelled a bit-I missed many days, plus I wanted to compare paths with Winter’s snow-and my decision was solidified.

Nooks and Ables were moved closer to the entrance(and by extension, my home) for added convenience. It took some time to get used to, for I went back to their previous locations various times. Overall, the move was a beneficial decision.
LwUPZf14_o.jpeg

...There may or may not be a mushroom invasion going on. Fungi of colours wide, growing by the day with pride. Reject their upheaval I do not, for their beauty adds worth to a carefree trot. (Not to mention I’m the reason they are swarming the island in the first place.)

The WIP entrance extends a little more out. However I have neglected to take photos of said areas. ^^; Next time, I will take a capture for future times. Progress was increased as I gained the last mush DIYs from balloons. Additionally, visiting another island to dig up flowers saved so much time that would otherwise be spent breeding hybrids. Purrhaps one of the best investments in my recent island travels.

I feel that the quota for today has been met.
Well, I write formally, but what I’m really saying is “That’s all I have for today”.
I hope that with time, I can look back on these entries with glee, like how I did months past. Until then, I hope to continue writing.
