I just get decide if I want this game or not.

I was looking forward to it when I saw the trailer for the first time, but now I'm not sure. I like the idea of decorating a villager's home.

I'm wondering if I should get a third New Leaf game or this one.

I just don't know.

I honestly love Happy Home Designer. It is missing a few points but I don't regret spending my money. I think you would like it. :)

to be honest its obviously not on the same level of "exciting", per se, as a regular animal crossing game, but having nintendo do something different for this franchise is really cool and the game isn't bad. i like playing it whenever i'm bored and have nothing to do. the idea of decorating a villager's home is so fun though and i guess thats what i like the most about the it. i think its worth your money

I was so excited for Happy Home Designer. I pre-ordered it more than a month before it was released and I played it for a couple of weeks. I wanted to love it. I tried to love it. I sold it yesterday. :p

I didn't buy it having high expectations, so it exceeded my expectations, and I was ecstatic. I love the game. My advice is don't burn yourself out. Do one or two houses per real life day, three tops, and don't rush making the main street projects all right away. This way, you won't burn yourself out, and you'll want to play more.

I read a review of this game and the big con I have heard, is that you can't make mistakes. You always get a perfect score, it doesn't matter if duplicate one item for the entire house, you always get a happy reaction from your villagers.
That takes away the challenge, which I don't like.

^ It would've been interesting if this game was scored, but it's not at all. It's more of supposed to be a creative game, to make things however you want to.

I thought I'd hate it because it's so different from new leaf, but I love it :D There are so many items to choose from when designing a house, and you unlock more, the more "clients" you get. You can choose between designing a new house and redoing one you've already worked on and you get to design pwps like shops, restaurants, schools, etc. It was good enough that I played it for 4 hours the first time I tried it. I definitely recommend it :3

Personally I think buy it, I mean I know with myself I haven't touched it in ages but it's still a good game to play, especially when you have nothing better to do.

I bought it, because I thought it'd be really cool to design houses and design a whole town...
I got bored really easily. I finished the entire town assignments in like less than 5 hours, so all that's left is villagers houses, and tbh it gets repetative.
I feel like if all the houses you do saved on the town map on the plot you picked, I'd love it more. But since all the plots are always available I feel like my town will never be finished, and I just keep picking the same plots each time instead of needing to change..
I'm probably going to end up selling it tbh.

I collected the cards first, and after a while I bought the game too. I like it more than I would have thought! It's not amazing or anything, but I just like designing rooms and unlike in New Leaf you unlock furniture sets in one go instead of having to buy them all separate. (though you do have to unlock the sets)

What it is. What it should be.

A part of this remark is my same perspective.

I like "Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer" but it is limiting.

An example of the limits are with a kitchen. I like to include a kitchen (and a bathroom) for every character. People have to eat. And, yet, the choices that I can use for a kitchen are limiting. I'm almost always using the stainless steel refrigerator and companion pieces. I would have like for whites. I would have liked materials like maple. I would have liked to customized them. And I would have liked better choices in wallpaper and more in the way of wood flooring.

I get to thinking what I would have liked from "Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer." I think characteristics of the game should be blended into characteristics of "Animal Crossing: New Leaf." This is because the mayoral concept ("New Leaf") and some control mechanisms ("Happy Home Designer") are very satisfying.

Of my three active "New Leaf" towns (listed in my signature), "ACNLpics" was methodically planned to an extreme most people would not accept. I think a lot of my time would have been saved had there been better control mechanisms like we get with "Happy Home Designer"?in which the flow of a town is not disrupted by bizarre plot locations (like immediately next door to the Town Hall or across left from the Train Station). That a mayor could work with town secretary Isabelle to develop a layout, for where houses and buildings and public works projects can be located, and which would be very satisfying.

"Happy Home Designer" is better played with bits at a time. For example, say you restrict yourself to designing no more than two characters' houses during one actual real-time day. That actually works for not exhausting oneself. And the game won't feel as redundant.

If you're SUPER into decorating, then I'd recommend it. It's more of a creative game and stuff.

I second that! I'm SUPER into decorating, and totally love it. You really, REALLY have to love the designing aspect of this series, because they take that one aspect, and make it its entire game. May sound boring, and tedious, but depending how much you love it, you'll continue to play even after you've finished all the houses (specials all require cards though, and not all have been released yet).

If you just love decorating and designing homes then you should get it and if not I highly recommend you don't get it. Trust me it is a waste of money.

I like it, it's quite a good game but a bit repetitive... It could be useful for designing your ACNL town too

I really enjoy it, but I've always been really into the home design aspect of New Leaf, like I had made full on layouts for each of the floors/rooms for all 4 houses because I really really love designing rooms. I have really enjoyed the game, I don't play it constantly but it's the kind of game you can't play too long in a row, you get burnt out pretty quick. But I always go back to it and have almost built everyone's house. =D

this don't do like i do and do 5 houses per day lol XD

but yeah it's good i mostly have it cause i got it with that pretty xl console!

I received my copy yesterday. I have played it and so far it's a lot of fun, I have to admit. It's also a harder than I thought it would be. I mean finding out what works and what doesn't. I want to have fun with this, but I'm also self-critical at the same time, since there is no negative feedback from the villagers whatsoever.
