Should i get kidd?

So I kinda want kidd.
Im dream hopping and told myself if he was on the next dream island I would bring him to my island. He wasn't there. I repeated this a few times tbh. But then he did show up!

Okay so I cheated by rerolling so many times. It was like 10. So I told myself next island. He was there again.
So I told myself only if he's home. He was home.

So yay get kidd right?
Well I have quillson who is my BFF so he's not allowed to ever leave. And this is the third time I've had raymond on my island. Clearly he is a fixture now so I shouldn't kick him.

So that means kidd would be a 3rd smug. And that's too many.
I also have 2 lazies which are never leaving. So it means I wouldnt have every personality. Although peppy is getting on my nerves so maybe not too bad a thing. Might just be Ruby being evil though.
Of those lazies, one is sherb so I would also have a duplicate of a species on my island.

All logic and reason says don't get him.
But I want him

You should get him if you want him. I don’t have one of every personality types on my island. Every villager on my island was chosen by species and color. I have 8 dogs and 2 wolves as my dream villagers. You don’t have to meet certain criteria. You can have any villager on your island.

If you love the villager, don't worry about personality types. I have no peppy or sisterly villagers but I have all my favorites so I don't care

If you must have a smug, he is one of my favorites. In New Leaf, I bought into the Marshal hype and loved him actually. Jacques is probably my favorite. Kidd was awesome. I had him as my last smug in NH. I currently have no smug, though, because I don't really like them as much in NH as I did in NL.

I’d say get him! Partially out of self interest. I am struggling to find a smug villager that clicks for me (who is not a hamster), so I would love to see some cute screen caps, to see if I like kidd too.

I also think once you have all the initial reactions, it doesn’t matter if you have all the personalities, and I have found that for the personalities I really like, I don’t find it annoying to hear a little repeated dialogue as much as the popular wisdom suggests I would.

for you it seems like this would especially true because from what I have seen from your other posts you develop rich stories for your villagers which makes them stand out and feel unique for you.

Kidd is amazing and his house is great. He was my first smug and the first smug from whom I got a photo. He's adorable when he sits on his toilet. I think he said it was custom engineered to fit his butt. It's nice that Quillson is your BFF but you could always let Quillson leave and bring him back later. I do that with Sterling and Colton all the time. If you have a lot of bells or NMT, you could let Raymond go and get him back later.

OMG. I love Jacques and Marshal and Kidd and Colton and Raymond and ... pretty much all the smug guys. Someday, I should an entirely smug lineup. Then maybe an entirely snooty lineup or entirely cranky.

Aw I love that! Colton is pretty great too. I had Raymond and didn’t click with him as much. Jacques is definitely my favorite. I’m into the edm scene so the whole DJ thing was a win for me.
Also love your toilet memory about Kidd. Kidd actually stared at June when she was at his house and on his toilet on my island

Raymond seems like the weak link here, and I would recommend replacing him with Kidd since you really seem to want him. I've come to find over the years that if I get an idea in my head about something I want to change, it's just going to keep bugging me unless I address it.

you seem to really like him so i think you should go for it! though, if having 3 smugs is something that would bother you, maybe you could invite him and keep him around for a bit to see how you vibe with him before making any final decisions?

I completely agree with this. I only keep 1 of each personality type to get the different DIYs.

Thanks for the advice.
I think I will replace Judy with him today and see how I find 3 smugs.

If I hate it, when he gives his photo I will move him out for timbra who I was planning on getting today instead.
