ACNH Console is delayed to my country due to the coronavirus. With this, should I play Animal Crossing on my old unit/Switch knowing that I cannot transfer the save file to my new Switch later on? (I'm really sad, really)

I'd say yes. You can always start over and play 'catch-up' since time-travel is an option to you, if you are keen on doing so.

Yeah, I would go ahead and play on your old switch. Just go with the flow on the island layout/name, fruit, etc. Build up some crafts, maybe even get some hybrids going. If you’ll still have your old switch when your new one arrives you can probably do a local co-op visit and drop off all the stuff you made in your old island. Hopefully it won’t be too long.

Why is everyone purchasing a brand new switch console just for animal crossing? I feel like i'm the only one keeping my old Switch. Personally, I only play with the Pro Controller and on the television.

Regardless, here's your options. You can't transfer data, so if you want to start a "test village" or a "beta village" then go ahead, but if you can't handle starting over and wasting time before your new Switch arrives, I wouldn't. It's really upto you.

i'd play it on my old switch honestly, i don't mind having two towns, plus in future, you can use it to transfer stuff to yourself rather than a dedicating yourself to it, use the second town to cycle villagers, harvest stuff and give to your main file LOL. or just play it on this and whenever nintendo has the cloud ready, you can transfer it over to your new switch.

^^ also, i agree with above person lol. ngl.. if anything, most people could just use a nice animal crossing skin on their perfectly fine and working switch lol, it's cute but i dont even like the color combination but that's just my opinion! but definitely use your old switch! it works fine, right? and definitely wasn't cheap! don't discard just for something new ^^

It is really up to you. If you were going to buy the AC switch with the sole purpose of playing NH on it you might want to wait. On the other hand you could play NH on your current switch and wait till you get the AC switch then start over (if this is possible) but you would have to be ok with losing all your progress. If you don't want to wait or lose all your progress you might want to consider not buying the switch at all if you think it won't be any use. I hope this gives you some insight on helping you make your decision, and I am really sorry you can't get the switch in time for ACNH.

it’s entirely up to you, friend. if the acnh switch is something you desperately want, wait. if you’re content with your current switch and it still works perfectly and you would prefer to not wait longer, i would just go with your current switch. at the end of the day, it’s the same console that’ll function the exact same, the only difference is the design aha
