This is awesome! You've approved so much! What do you use to draw and how much time do you spend drawing?

I use clip studio paint for my art program and a gaomon m10k2018 for my art tablet. art pieces usually take me 2-3 hours

As for me… I give you one of my first digital drawings (July 2021). A not so great drawing, of the very beautiful @/Roxxy.

And then my latest unsolicited drawing for @/Blink. I was actually super pleased with this, because I still struggle a lot with drawing in general! Even just drawing a chibi, sometimes it feels like a smooth and easy process, and then with a different chibi, just struggling endlessly (which is what I’m currently experiencing on a different drawing; sometimes I just throw away a drawing and start again).

Circa 2005:

This was after removing the hooks, sanding the surface and filling in the holes. I meant to take a picture before even touching it but I forgot. Oops.

2021:

I was going to completely do something different but I couldn’t figure out what. In homage to the original design I decided to use it as a base while adding detail and changing the colours. Really happy with how it turned out.

oooh, fun thread idea! these two art pieces are completely different, so they might not make for the best comparison, but…

this is the oldest digital art piece of mine i could find. it’s from 2015, and it’s a dragonfly that i drew for a contest @/The Pennifer held. it’s certainly not the worst thing i’ve drawn, but it’s pretty underwhelming imo, and i lowkey hate the colour palette i went with.

this is one of my latest pieces of digital art (2022), and it just so happens to be my current avatar + one of my artworks that i’m most proud of! it’s an easter bunny celeste ‘chibi’, and i honestly love it so much lol. my art is really nothing special, and i still have lots to learn and improve on before i can consider myself an artist, but i’ve definitely come a long way since 2015!

I just did the Swooning art for @Roxxy and for comparison, I found an older Queen of Hearts with Marshall from my PocketCamp days
The Swooning art was inspired by a conversation we had as to whether people even “swoon” any more! LOL

Ohh I love looking at other artist‘s old vs new art! Here’s some of mine.

It was physically painful to look at my art from 2007 but we all start somewhere I guess. I have not drawn consistently from 2007-now, there were always several years in between when I didn’t draw at all so sadly I don’t have a good grasp on how quickly I would have improved had I drawn continuously.
