  • Sleep Deprivation
"I was always a night owl but at least would get sleep. When a new game comes out I know I'll lose some. New Leaf though is one of the worst ones yet. 3 times since release I have been up till 5am. Even now I have not slept. Thankfully no work this week so hopefully I'll have a long night."
  • Comparing to Reality
"Went fishing a few days ago. After the an hour my first thought was "At least in AC you can see the shadows, this is a lot harder." I am ashamed. But I peaceful life like that would be nice."
  • Conflicting Goals
"I want to go to bed so I can have a new AC day but I want to still play. Japan AC that hooks up to my dreams! Take my money!"
*This has been an Ao Industries survey. All interview are by real people. Play responsibly.

What about work or school passing by extra slowly because you want to get home and play?

Stupid real life. Always gotta get in the way of video games. ;)

Looking forward to having these sign effects.
I'm guessing I will get no sleep the night that AC is finally released in Australia! ^-^

I will always be a night owl no matter what game comes out lol but yeah I gotta agree with that. When pokemon x and y comes out (terrible time cause its in october when people are working/school) I'm pretty sure i'm gonna lose sleep over it. But for animal crossing they did good cause they knew people would have more time in the summer. Fishing in real life is honestly much more fun because you don't get a sea bass every two seconds lol and when i'm fishing its always like a mini adventure to me. Lol i've had animal crossing dreams so many times also

Sigh and here I am still up. Honestly though when it gets to this point I say just go for it. I'll take a long nap later. Right now just fighting off the temptation to TT (back to before 6am then let it click over) to remove one neighbor. Too bad new things open after set days T_T if that wasn't the case nothing would stop me.

I know what you mean. My sleep-deprived nights are over, finally, as are the dreams - probably because I've stopped watching so many videos.

It hasn't happened with this iteration, but with my first one I was in the car, saw a butterfly, and thought, "Man, I'm driving so I can't get my net out."

I've only been getting maybe 3 hours of sleep a night since Sunday. And then there are those times at the end of the day when I realize that I've eaten absolutely nothing.

This game has dominated my life. I know my limits though. I know that some people lose battles with hygiene when it comes to video games, but that's just unaccecptable for me

Weight gain!
One hand for playing ACNL, one for feeding myself horribly fattening (but tasty) snacks due to not wanting to put the game down for a minute to have a proper meal.

Haha I'm the opposite xD I forget to eat like all the time cause I get so sucked into the game ugh

Excessive weight gain and loss of culture. Not to mention eye strain, head aches and nausea! ...But it's all worth it!

My stomach never lets me forget, and my boyfriend is a total enabler, so he will spend the day fetching me snacks and drinks XP
D< Lucky you!

Other side effects I get.. sore arms/hands
and the music getting stuck in my head all day

Oddly, video games don't cause that for me. I still feel the need to take my showers. But video games DO make me forget to eat. I'll be playing for hours and hours and then suddenly I realize I have extremely strong hunger pains, my stomach is growling, and I'm feeling weak from low blood sugar. It's not that I don't want to stop to eat, it's just that I am distracted by the game so seriously forget to.

AC has never caused this though, because I play it for shorter spurts. It's the roleplaying games where, on free weekends, I can literally play for 8-14 hours straight and only stopping for bathroom or drink refill breaks that's the problem.

I've got the theme music from the Gamecube version stuck in my head. It won't go away and I've apparently been humming it for the last few days without realizing

This morning I saw a dragonfly and thought I could get that if I had my net :/

I have withdrawls. I work 8 hours a day and these 8 hours are miserable marathons of the shakes, headaches, and odd itches. I just want to BE THE MAYOR! *twitch* I might quit my job. :D
