SIGNATURE MAKERS - HELP?

I dunno if this is the right board, But I'm posting it here. It can be moved, I guess.

I'm thinking about starting a signature shop, using the sprites from welcometoathena.tumblr.com (the same ones everyone uses), but only some of the sprites are going onto the background as transparent, the rest have red, green, or black as a background colour instead of being transparent. I have Windows 7, by the way. (PC)

I'm saving the images and then selecting "transparent selection", then going to "paste from" and pasting them onto the image. They're all saved the same way, but only some of them are getting the transparent background I need. Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

Ah, what program are you using to make your signatures?
Anyways, the way I do it is (i.e. There's probably a much simpler way):
Save Sprites as PNG > Go to program > File > Open > Bulk-select sprites > Copy and paste on to main canvas.

(I use Photoshop CC)

I'm using paint (lol) but I'm currently installing Gimp since I heard it works better.

Save the image and move it to the program, don't copy and paste it. If you did that, then GIMP will solve that and MS Paint sucks.

paint sucks.
paint.net is really good tbh
its free too and much more easier to get around than gimp imo
i cant understand gimp at all
plus photoshop is expensive unless you illegally download it or have a trial for a month
