Small features you wish they've snuck into the update

So I'm sure there are plenty of little things they didn't show in the direct. What are you hoping to find? For me its:

1. Being able to store flowers/trees/bushes in our storage
I have not decorated my island in about a year because all my hybrids are everywhere, taking up a lot of space. But I also don't want to throw them away since when I start properly decorating, I just want them to be available to pull out instead of having to breed/grow more as I need them. It would be so nice to just store them all with one of my alt characters and finally have them out of the way, but available immediately.

2. Touch screen functionality for pattern designing
I used to enjoy designing clothing and mediocre paths (best I can do lol) but I hate using the controls/buttons instead of a stylus like I used to. It would just make it so much easier for me and would give me more to do in the game! Touch screen functionality is in the game after all, so it's definitely possible for them to add it. I don't see why touch screen is allowed to be used to draw on the notice board but not to design patterns. I just feel it makes so much sense to add this feature in!

3. More DIYs from Celeste so I'll have a reason to talk to her again
After getting all the DIYs from Celeste, I've just stopped bothering to talk to her. I remember the excitement in the beginning of seeing her on my island. I really miss that feeling. And since I don't believe they're giving her an observatory like I wanted, this would be the next best thing :)

4. Being able to place rugs outside
I honestly don't understand why this wasn't in the game in the first place, but it definitely makes sense for them to add it in now! It would really change the way we can decorate and I'm hoping they'll surprise us with this feature

5. Shopping cart for Able Sisters
Need I say more? Hehe

6. Being able to wish upon stars while sitting down or holding tools
I've always wanted to make a cute little wishing spot where my friends and I can sit down together. Also, being able to hold tools while wishing was a QoL that they added in the Welcome amiibo update for New Leaf so I would just really like it back!

Let me know all the *small* features you're hoping they've snuck in as surprises for us! This isn't about big stuff like shop upgrades or new NPCs. Just tiny details that make a big difference to you. :)
 
i nearly started screaming hysterically when i noticed they STILL havent updated the way you get nmt. come ON. i have so many miles but not enough patience to sit there and print them out
 
Everything you said plus bulk crafting and I hope we’ll have that feature like in NL where we can sell our finished islands to Nook and create a new one while keeping our catalogs…
 
I agree with everything everyone else has said! A lot of these additions would be so wonderful to have. I especially agree with the fanning yourself in summer and shivering after you get out of the water after diving/swimming in winter--kind of sad to see those weren't in the game.

I've played every day since launch and have almost 1200 hours on my main account plus another 150-200 hours on my other accounts. This is the first game I've ever done that with. So I'm probably one of the few, but I have been pretty happy with the base game. There are a few things I really hope they added in but didn't show, though! (Sorry, this got pretty long!)

1. More fruits! Especially the tropical fruits. Maybe they're going to add these to the Dodo Airlines Mystery Island Tours and/or Kapp'n's Island Tours and just haven't shown them?? Really want more fruits, though!

2. The colored ores from past games! Timmy & Tommy's house in HHP shows mining carts with purplish gems in them, maybe amethysts? So maybe they are being added. I really hope so!

3. Fossil miniatures from Cyrus! I loved these so much in New Leaf! I tried so hard to get one of each but never did. I have had a full set of fossils sitting in storage since at least May 2020 on the chance they would add these in. The music boxes are back, so maybe these are, too. I really hope so!

4. A permanent place for Luna! I am so sad she doesn't have a Dream Suite. I would love to see her get a place on Harv's Island. Probably won't happen, but I would probably use the Dream feature a lot more often if she did have a permanent place.

5. More Nintendo-themed items like the Zelda and Splatoon items. Plus the Zelda and Splatoon villagers--At least let us invite them in for coffee at the Roost and make homes for them in HHP.

also when dream addressing lemme just enter a new dream code without having to wake up and then go back to sleep and then go through all the dialogue all over again
 
A few QOL updates to crafting, like bulk crafting. Buying NMT in bulk would have also been nice.

I also wish they added back the fruit that was in New Leaf (assuming one of the islands Kapp'n brings you to doesn't have any; the only thing I saw was a new bush and coconut trees planted on grass).
 
1. Nook's Cranny upgrade. We're getting more furniture, and ceiling stuff, so it makes sense now is the time to upgrade. Plus, the exterior still hints towards a possible expansion. Hoping after the update, Timmy and Tommy notify us of an upgrade taking place the following day.

2. Shopping Cart at Able Sisters. Unfortunately, I don't think Nintendo with come through on this one.

3. More tropical fruits (From Kappn's islands).

4. A place for DJ K.K. in HHP

5. Moveable Town Hall/Plaza
 
definitely everything you've said, of course, plus bulk crafting (looking at you, fishbait), bulk buying NMTs, and I would also love the ability to go straight from one nook miles island to the next instead of having to return to your island and go through all the dialogue again
 
It's not very important and I've mentioned it recently in other threads, but I'm annoyed we can't interact with objects while using the camera app. It'd make making cute videos more possible. I hope with the new camera app upgrade they might have addressed this.🤞
 
I feel like there's definitely some things in the update they didn't show. After all, the current version of NH (1.11.1) is starting to run out of holidays. It has Halloween and a few upcoming limited seasonal items, but they don't have anything for Turkey Day or beyond. Thus, those holiday updates are going to be in this update too.

I'd also like to see things like bulk crafting, crafting from storage, bulk buying (including bulk buying NMTs), all of the things that don't show up in the catalog should be added to it (looking at you, limited seasonal items), and better search options for our storage. But I honestly don't see Nintendo giving us these quality of life sorts of things. They might but just... I dunno. I feel pretty pessimistic about it. I feel like some of these things, such as bulk crafting, was even brought up during the playtesting phase, before the game came out, but they chose not to do it for whatever reason.

Anyway, I always thought one way they could add bulk crafting and bulk buying of NMTs would be to add new options. They could add DIYs for 5 bait, 10 bait, 5 medicine, and 10 medicine, for example, if they didn't want to just let you pick a number. They could also add "Buy 5 Bell Tickets," "Buy 10 Bell Tickets," "Buy 5 Nook Mile Tickets," and "Buy 10 Nook Mile Tickets" options, too.
 
I really hope there is some kind of online mini games to play with online friends and or more interactive activities to do with our villagers 🤞🏼.

Ach i just wished this was not the last DLC, this game had so much potential to be like Wo_O.ow, its a true shame i must say even if they were pyed and once a year
 
- Not being able to lay path 2 or 3 squares at a time
- Changing the colour of the town hall cause I don't like the purple roof with orangey bricks
- More design slots
- Maybe a lawn mower item for when you want to destroy large areas with flowers, instead of having to dig them up one by one
