Smash Bros Smash 4 Switch or New Smash game?

I was wondering if anyone had the same idea as me and this new game be smash 4 switch version.

Reasons I think it's just a port
Original Splatoon Inklings with the blue and orange color scheme are shown rather than the Splatoon inklings with the green and pink color scheme

It is releasing this year

A lack of information about the game

it's definitely a port, it's probably going to have several new things but its probably just a ctrl c ctrl v of the wii u

Some people are speculating that it's a completely new smash game due to how the Smash4 logo looks compared to the new one they just showed or how they didn't call it 'Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo Switch' like they did with the Wii U and 3DS.

i don't know. i'd be okay with either, but i'd love to see a new game just to shake things up, since the same game can get boring after a while

If you read the press news of tonight's Nintendo Direct, you'll notice that Super Smash Bros. has the mention of "working title", meaning it'll be indeed a new entry to the franchise, as opposed to a port of Super Smash Bros. 4 (as in, from Wii U).

plus, why would they make the teaser trailer so ominous if it were just a port? if it were just a port they'd just say so, like how they have with all the other ports

I really hope it's a new game, though a port won't be so bad as long as they add new characters like botw link, inklings, and maybe new fire emblem characters like alm or celica

But why wouldn't they use the new Inkling designs. And just because it says "working title" could just mean they are tweaking it to work better with the switch. As a working title is a file used to test the game while in development. It doesn't mean it has to be a new game to be called a working title.

It's almost assuredly a new game. New logo, changing Link's model, new characters, and an overall different mood to the whole thing.

This might as well be a new game. And there are 8 variant colors for each character, so there will be green and pink inklings.

Judging from the tweet that Sakurai had put out in which he said that he's been working on this for a while, as well as other hints such as the slightly different logo, the fact that we haven't seen gameplay and other small things lead me to think that this is a new game. If it was a port, I feel like they would've shown us some gameplay and a release date.

It's a new game. Scratch what I said before. I'm glad they are releasing it in this year, shows they have been working on something.
