Snagging flowers from island tours...

I just gained access to my island today, and while I was playing some of the games I realized I could pick up and keep the flowers on those maps! Having tons of flowers and making hybrids is one of my favorite things to do in Animal Crossing, so I was SO excited to suddenly have so many different colors and types of them at my disposal...I've been going to the island just to stuff my bin full of flowers to bring back home. Anyone else been collecting them this way? uwu

That's where I got the majority of my flowers. Some of my island trips included just grabbing all the flowers I could from island tours. All my hybrid patches are coming along quite nicely now.

It's the only practical way to get flowers in the entire game, so yes I do it. Island basically stocks you with most of the essentials.

It's much better than having to just wait for new flowers to spawn and buy them from a shop every day - I always hated how slow it was to really fill your town up with flowers in wild world. I was afraid I'd have to wait for the gardening shop to open before I could get any real progress done in new leaf, so finding an endless supply of free flowers was a pleasant surprise!

I grab a lot of my flowers from there. The Garden store and random spawns don't appear fast enough for me.

Do the flowers picked up from the island breed correctly? (aka they may not only give basic colors, such as white, red, yellow, but also blue, orange, black, pink, etc?)
Because I read somewhere that in order for the "rare", so to say, hybrids, you can only use bought flowers. Don't know if it's legit though

I have gotten different colored hybrids (pink, orange, black) from the island flowers.

i think I'm the only one with that opinion, but for me, taking flowers on the island tours feels like a from the game offered cheat. You get the gardenshop, at the beginning you only get 2 flowers a day, and with that island you get endless flowers, this is the worst thing ever for me. in past games, it was realy fun for me, to watch other towns getting more and more flowers, but now this is just eww, EVERY town looks like an flowercovered paradise, but this is no effort. In past games you must work hard for this, now you dont...

That's a good point actually. I stuffed my town full of island flowers but it did feel a little bit cheap compared to Wild World where I had to carefully nurture everything and any flower that was destroyed accidentally was a big deal.

Maybe I'll go back to just buying flowers from the shop everyday and building things up gradually.

I wanna grow all the flowers in my town myself. Hahahaha
It's a great surprise when I play and there's a new flower.
Makes it worth watering it everyday

I did this, I was amazed when I figured out I could take them back with me! I'm just waiting for the gardening mini game because I think thats the only one you can snag violets and lillies from?!

I have this same opinion. I enjoy it more when I can work hard for things.

I like your point. I used to work so hard for my flowers to make them look nice, and now it seems like in New Leaf it's to easy to do. I mean yeah it makes your town look all pretty and flowery but it also makes it harder to run around and catch stuff cause you have to watch out for the flowers everywhere. I only did the island thing like once or twice and I'm letting them grow by themselves or buy the flowers from Leif. Honestly, your post is making me rethink things. The island is already so easy to make bells off of, it would just seem like we're using the island and taking too much from it.

I think I'll take a bunch of the flowers I took from the tours and plant them back on the island now. Then I'll just grow the ones I have in my town normally and buy new ones from the shop!

It'll take longer but hopefully it'll be more rewarding!

I mainly take the fruit I don't have to plant trees. lol I only took like two flowers to give my home that warm island feel and to look unique.
