Have you tried having your gates open while you harvest? No bees fall out of trees when you do that!

I agree that the beekeeper outfit is a cute idea.

There are already solutions to avoid getting wasps, as they won't appear on fruit trees and palm trees (and right now, on decorated cedars) and as someone mentioned, if your gates are open they won't spawn (same for multiplayer). You can already collect all the materials without the risk of getting punished, so I don't think they will implement further measures.

I am not reading through the entire thread, but you can shake the trees until you find the bee one. Close the game and then isolate the bee trees somewhere where you know they will be. Or you could probably dig the tree out and keep it in your pocket forever. That might work.

The bee keeper suit sounds cool. Maybe they could have a bomb-proof suit for the scorpions lol

I love your solutions! Wasps weren't a big deal in previous games because we only had to shake trees for 1 random furniture item a day so I rarely encountered them. With a game like this where gathering materials is such a HUGE part of the game play, having 5 wasps per day (excluding Mystery Islands where you can get a wasp per island) can get tedious.

I love using the mystery islands to collect resources because you never have to worry about cleaning up after yourself and there are no ‘items’ in the way like there prob would be on your main island. It also saves using your regular tools. I always get the nook miles flimsy tools. Two flimsy axes will get you through all the trees on the island for only 200.

And once the hive drops you can (more than likely) ditch the net to speed things up.

I just tried this and it works like a charm! Went to I think 8 Mystery Islands and walked away with a total of 100 pieces of Wood! I still think it'd be more convenient to just have something that makes us immune to wasps but only having to worry about the one wasp hive that spawns on Mystery Islands does make it more convenient than dealing with them back on the main island. Thanks for the tip

Great! Glad to pass the tip along. I wish the game would allow jumping directly from one mystery island to to the next without having to return to our airport first. But that 100 pieces you scored makes it worth it, and should hopefully last you a while. Island hopping for resources is also a great way to build your gold nugget collection, tho I don't always find one on every island.

I have been stung with my gates open and also with people visiting. I believed I could shake all my trees with the gates open and was shocked when I got stung.

It's usually 4 hives that get dropped per day, right...?

No, it is 5 per day. I have all my non fruit trees in specific areas of my island and in straight rows. I shake them all when I play to get the bells for the wasps and the two furniture pieces that come out.
I do like the beekeeper outfit idea, that would be amazing. I would use it on mystery islands only because I go there specifically for supplies and animals. I like the wasps on my own island because of that extra 15K

If your gate is open, wasp should no longer spawn.

You could also try catching them before hand. You can shake trees with a net, and then mash the (A) button to never get stung again.

the wasps honestly don’t really bother me all that much probably bc i hardly ever shake trees or chop wood but your ideas are fantastic!! i personally would love a functional beekeepers suit or the “safe haven” ordinance! especially the ordinance since i’m Lowkey afraid of the tarantulas n scorpions. ;/;
