So Are Furniture Themes, Series And Sets Gone?

I haven't seen series, themes or set furniture appearing and while I've never had an issue with the standalone furniture that the past games have done and I think the DIY is a fine addition to the game, I don't think DIY is a reason to cut full sets from the game.

The only furniture that comes from a set and isn't standalone that I've found in the game so far was a Modern Wood Flooring I just bought from the Nooklings today. But is the whole Modern Wood Series there? Or has it been scrapped in favor of strict standalone furniture and DIY projects?

I have other questions about gameplay in general but I'll make a thread asking my questions later. I'm sure a couple of my questions won't be answerable when I pick up the guide next week.

I received a "cute bed" and a "cute lamp" from balloons, so I think there will be sets. Probably some old favorites and then some new ones.

The Rocco, Alpine and Princess set were my favorites and I'd love to recreate my old New Leaf house

I hope there are as well. In my opinion, furniture sets are an essential part of the game so I hope we see full sets. I'm getting the guide next week though so I'll check the furniture catalog section to see what's what.

i was asking this yesterday im so bored of the ugly crafting furniture tbh i just wanna go shopping and see the sets again. like crafting was fun for a hot second and its just annoying now and the furniture options just aint it

I want the Ice se soooo badly. I don't care if we have to remove the Princess set to get it. Ice is the best, and there is no changing that.

Unfortunately a lot of furniture sets appear to be missing, but it would not surprise me that they would be added in via updates over time. Longevity and all that.

I've received furniture from the following series/themes/sets:

- Boxing
- Cute
- Office
- Imperial
- Bear family
- Backyard

+ maybe a few others that aren't as obvious due to the names.

I think they want us to kinda work (read: wait for the Nooklings to stock them, to be given them, or to find them in a balloon) for the expertly crafted furniture while making do with the crafting stuff in the meantime. Some of the crafting stuff is alright - but I agree, most of it looks like those kiddy crafting kits hardware stores sometimes sell lmao

I already got a few rattan furniture so I think most of them if not all and even some new will be there eventually. I don't know which ones are there yet but I'm pretty sure they'll come to be in future updates.
The feeling this game gives me — and it's a good thing I think — is they want to really work on the "deserted island" theme, with many advancements coming later on, after you've worked to get them. I think content will come along with future updates.

i feel like there has to be more furniture sets. this game is loved for its options and customization, and with all the new updates to these things it would be weird if they didnt add in old furniture sets and new ones. i hope that we aren't seeing many things because the amount of recipes we have dont encompass everything, and maybe balloons have a specific drop pool or something. maybe as we upgrade shops, we'll see a bigger variety of furniture. or as others have pointed out, they may be locked behind updates.

I wouldn’t trust any data mine info you see. They couldn’t even find pitfall seeds in the code but they were discovered yesterday via a player.

If not they may come in an update.

Preach! Crafting has gotten so annoying! I miss going to the store everyday to see if any pieces of furniture from the set I was collecting was in stock. In like the 3 days I have had Nook's Cranny on my island, I have not come across ANY pieces that belong to a set. The only thing I've seen remotely close to a set is the ugly DIY wood furniture. I hope it's in the game, but with all the stuff they've removed in this one, it would be no surprise. If sets are gone, it's just going to be another thing for me to be disappointed with about this game.

I think a lot of people want to unlock everything right away, which is what has been happening in New Leaf.
I'm actually glad they locked the events behind updates as by now, we'd probably know all there is to know about the game with very little room for surprises.

I actually think the wooden furniture is quite cute and it can also be painted which is nice. It makes it look like something else altogether.

I’ve seen a few items from the classic set. I doubt they took out the furniture sets.

I think the blue and green sets have been replaced by the diy wooden set, which can then be painted not just green or blue, but also a number of other colors.

Okay...I might've been exaggerating a bit I actually have several painted wood pieces in my house! I just wish there were a bit more variety in options. I'm getting really tired of wood being one of my only furniture options.

Well if they do come back through update patches, I hope we get plenty of old sets that were cut returning. Someone said that Animal Crossing is known for it's customization and the game already feels watered down compared to New Leaf, so I could see not bringing sets back (or if sets are incomplete, patching the missing items in) could be a problem.

One cool thing would be to take sets from Pocket Camp and add them in. And even alter some. I know if they took the Gothic Rose furniture and turned it into a full series (the one where there's like 11 pieces in the set including a full wallpaper and flooring) I'd definitely stockpile the bells to buy all that.

So somebody just told me that the pitfalls are in the game, but they have to be crafted. UGH! I am starting to really hate crafting. At first I liked it, but now I despise it. The game could do without it...it really drags the game down.
