I'm so confused..... What are the terms such as "TBT" and "Cycling?" How do I buy and sell items and villagers?

TBT = the currency of the forum
Cycling = time-traveling multiple times to get a villager you want

There are several uses of TBT. One, as the user above pointed out, means the forums currency. TBT is Also an abbreviation of the site name:

See the list of things under you user name, such as "Posts" and "Bells?" When you post here, you earn Bells. That's what you use to buy things, like in-game items or collectibles, which are the little pictures a lot of us have under "Items."

I sort of understand cycling, but it's not something I do, so I'd rather let one of the many experts here explain it. The Villager Trading Plaza is where you can buy and sell villagers.
