So I heard something about the paid dlc... Please tell me I'm wrong

So I was told that with the paid dlc, the room expansion wouldn't be applicable to our own homes, but everything else would. I mean there wouldn't be much point in partition walls in a side room if we can't expand it. Room expansions was one of my favorite parts of the paid update, but if we can't even do that...

Is anyone able to confirm or deny this?

Well, it is hard to know anything for certain at this point unless it has been explicitly stated one way or the other by Nintendo. Where did you hear this from? Because I don't believe Nintendo themselves ever specified in the direct.

Yep, this. We haven't heard one way or the other if the larger room sizes that are applicable to the archipelago houses/buildings can be used on our houses or our villagers' houses on our own islands.

I can think of lots of ways to use the partition walls even with the existing maximum room sizes personally.

Okay, so I just went back and rewatched the direct and unfortunately, it sounds unlikely. They went over every other feature one-by-one, but never mentioned that. So I don't have high hopes that the feature will be added to our own homes. However, until we hear one way or another from Nintendo, the possibility is still in the air.

You can't expand the size of a house's interior on the main island, both player and villager, sadly. Though I am not 100% sure on the player.

Our homes are big enough, imho. Villager homes aren't going to do as well though.

But in the direct, the narrator says that you use learned techniques on your own island right? Right?? I just assumed that was part of it T_T But now looking at the room with the partitions and counters on the player's own island, the example they used is the regular small room... Well, I'm slightly worried, but I'm going to wait until the DLC releases and we know for sure.. I've always wanted to make the rooms bigger, so I REALLY hope we can...

The disclaimer only pops up on the section about remodeling villagers homes. For now I'm not sure one way or another about our home. I'm hopeful we can since it's odd the disclaimer wasn't on the section about our homes as well but we won't know for sure until they confirm or the DLC is out.

I think you're just better off buying the DLC by itself for only $24.99 that whole expansion pack is such a rip off.

all they'd have to do is make it so you can't do this until your home is fully paid off


but honestly, they probably won't allow us to do this to our homes for "logic" reasons. though a "logic" following workaround that I still wouldn't expect would be to be able to adjust your room sizes via talking to nook and paying him some service fee

after that, it'd work like usual house expansions, where the change applies the next day. though also, probably only one room could be size adjusted per day, as well

OK yeah now I'm a little worried lol. I wouldn't mind if the restriction is for our own villagers, but if we can't expand our weird size rooms in our own homes then that's disappointing. I don't like the 6x10 and 6x6 rooms we have. I would like 8x8 or 10x10 rooms in our houses.

I had no plans on buying the expansion pack. It didn't seem worth it to me. $60 should be the max.
