So I just got Kid Icarus Uprising, and I suck.

I like the darkness bow in solo mode (but viridi claws will always be my love). It's pretty good with melee and ranged attacks if you can aim well.

So do you buy these weapons or fuse to get them?
& is fusing a bad idea?

No, fusing is a great idea, especially when you figure out how to use it well.

Yeah.. I have some learning to do about fusing. I just randomly put weapons together if it makes the value go up.
Is there any guides out there for fusing?

Follow the instructions near the top of it to use it, only takes a minute or 2 to set up.
Basicall yhow to use it is you select the 2 weapons you want to combine, or you can choose a weapon you want to create. Then click on Calculate List to find whatever you're looking for. The group number next to weapon B tells you what will be passed on. Lower numbers tend to pass stars, higher numbers tend to pass mods. 3 means it will equally pass stars and mods. It's very confusing at first but will help a LOT later. Also just looking at what you can combine to make what helps too.

Okay cool, thanks! I'll definitely use that.
Sounds like a lot of work to get the type of weapon w/ the perfect amount of stars and stuff.

Do you recommend going nuts trying to make a good weapon while you're still just playing in solo mode? I'm only on like chapter 4 right now.

Unless you're doing 9.0, you don't need anything outstanding (but it does help). Thed only thing I'd say is almost needed for story mode is anything with a hearts mod. You'll really need a lot of hearts to get good weapons later.

Play online multiplayer with an ok weapon, and even if you do bad you get lots of free weapons, but not always. Play the first chapter on level 9 and grind for hearts. Good luck!

But the free weapons you get from that are really bad. Only good for reselling, and that doesn't give you a whole lot. Grinding for hearts on the first chapter is okay, but you need to get a decently good weapon first. And you don't need to grind for anything on chapter 4...

Haha I'm just stuck w/ some sucky weapons, and I lose sometimes to bosses, and I lose hearts. So I was stressing a bit.. I'm replaying some chapters to get hearts and buy some diff weapons but idk.

When you first started in solo, what did you guys do? Like did you really try and plan your weapons out throughout?

In response to the original post, I just got the game as well. I love Pit, and would play the game solely for him. But I really dislike Palutena and I can't seem to get used to the controls! So I haven't picked it back up since my first play (got to chapter 3?). Keep us posted on your progress, though! c:

Okay! I like Palutena, she so sarcastic to Pit xD
Are you using the L-shoot Stylus- aim and Circle pad controls?

Well, during my first playthrough,I just used whatever that worked.Try fusing some more, see if you can get something good.

I tried it both ways. My hand gets tired when I used the touch-to-aim. And then when I swapped it to aim with the circle pad, I felt like there was too much going on. x__x But I can keep trying. I feel like, if they gave it a New Nintendo 3DS patch, it'd be much more comfy!

Oh you'll learn to love(and hate.Seriously, she's a big troll to Pit) her in the later chapters :p

What control scheme are you using?

EDIT:Oh hai I got sniped.

Anyways,if your hand feels cramped, hold it like in this pic.(Ignore that minor bit of swearing there,BTW)

Alright. The weapon I have now has a value of 170.. don't know if that's ok for where I am or not. Thanks for the help!

During my first play through I just stuck with the ranged weapons that had the most stars in it.

Here's a hint for fusing if it isn't in the guide already. If you don't like the weapon you ended up with as a result of trying to fuse higher values, pop out the game cart. It resets everything up until the last screen change (the last point the game autosaves). You can also do this if you lost in the middle of a higher level chapter and don't want to lose your hearts.

I don't think I even used the pen for a bit LOL. Will try that, though! Thanks!

I just picked this up for the first time since it came out (!!!) and was really enjoying it. It's so chaotic though. I bet I'd get a lot better at it if I played it some more but as it is I could only play through one chapter (the second one) before feeling drained.
