So the campsite is bad, right?

It wouldn't be hard- like I said, it's not perfect. I'd love if Nintendo made that option available to random campers. But getting them to select another villager isn't impossible, just a bit annoying. And there's ZERO risk of someone moving out you don't want (which, as people who've played previous games know, was a risk- villagers would move without any warning at times, as opposed to this game, where you can stop ANY villager from leaving before they do). As long as you reset right after they suggest the villager, you should be good. Unless you're unlucky enough that it kicks in in the few seconds it takes to read the name... I don't see how autosave is going to be a huge issue in THIS instance. Because, yes, autosave can be annoying. And there should definitely be a way to turn it off. But it's also saved me a effort of work when I've had to reset for some reason and would've lost a bunch of time and work otherwise.

I never said there was no room for improvement, just that these aspects in ACNH are better than they were in previous games. That doesn't mean Nintendo couldn't make them better.
Considering amiibo campers give you the option to choose who to replace from among your current villagers, the ridiculous resetting that people have to do for standard campers is absurd and smacks of milking the consumer for more money from amiibo card sales. They had the ability to make this as painless as possible and didn't.

Honestly, acquiring specific villagers in this game is a nightmare unless one's the type of person to enjoy random number generators and gacha. I sure didn't enjoy spending actual weeks trying to find Tucker on the the Nook Miles Islands to be my Lazy villager, seeing Sherb and Zucker probably like 20 times each. Even that seemed the better option than having to do this campsite resetting though; it sounds really tedious to have to reset for the specific camper you want and then keep resetting again to try to get them to kick out someone specific. I personally just resorted to etsy.

I would say unusable if you aren't using time travel. Honestly, it's just one way to discover new villagers.

The first visitor I had at the campsite was Roald, whom I wanted. I even had an open plot for him to go to, and he left and I got someone else.

The campsite is one of the worst things ever in this game. I don't know why they had to make it so complicated.

I have yet to play the game with the campsite visitor. Is the game the same as it was in NL, where you could make a ton of money when a lazy villager was a camper? I really miss that game.

Even with TTing, I feel like I rarely get a camper and never one I like. I do have the amiibo cards but I like getting random campers and I want to play the game.

I got lucky with Rosie, I only had to play her card game once, lost of course, asked her again and she decided to move in without a card game and then chose Flip to kick. I was so happy.

I love the campsite. I do sometimes wish the campers were a little more frequent, or find the resetting to ‘choose’ who to move a bit annoying at times. But I like the surprise, I like seeing villagers I never would have considered inviting, and I like there kind of being stakes to it (even if I constantly cheat, with no remorse) Like to move in a new friend you have to let go of another. I bought some amiibos of villagers I think I will ultimately want to be permanent or at least long term on my island, but I haven’t been able to bring myself to use them cause it just feels boring. That’s just me of course, and I’m not trying to say the game should only work to suit what I want. But...yeah, I love the campsite. Sorry, really do understand if you hate it you hate it, and not trying to rain on your parade.

The resetting to kick out the right villager is really annoying. But what's even more annoying is try to get them to say OK to move in. In between the random talk about camping and playing for ugly clothing, I had to ask a camper 10 times to move in before they say OK and then they didn't even pick the right villager. I didn't take that camper out of principle because I was legit spam talking for 10 minutes.

Ugh I feel that card game, especially if it's someone you really want and you keep losing to RNG sigh. But yeah keep trying sometimes it aks a lot for the same to moveout ugh.

i love the campsite, the only thing i would change is letting you pick who you want to move out. amiibo cards already have an advantage over random campsite visitors since you can pick who it would be, the randomness of who they pick is a pain

Yes the campsite is terrible. I love when I have an empty resident slot, and no one at the campsite. Then next day house is sold to some random villager and low and behold we have a visitor at the campsite. This has happened to me every single time, without fail. Even if I like who is in the camp why even bother trying to get them because the villager I really want to move out hasn't even moved in yet....dumb!

Another option,if you are willing, is to create a second character. Have that character go to the campsite(I'm not sure what the game may require them to do before that can happen fyi) and go through the dialogue and everything til they pick someone to move. If it's not eho you want quit without saving and start again. This way you can get Cyd and afterward you can always delete the second character(do this through the settings tab with nook first or the tent wont be deleted). Good luck
