I think sogoleo should have been part fire, as its typing makes no sense, I like lunala typing, as it makes sense, what do you guys think?

Lunala is based on the Minyades, three sisters who were turned into bats because they refused to honor the god Dionysus (some versions say only one of them was turned into a bat). All three went mad and continuously avoided the light of the sun after that.
I didn't know much about the Minyades before today, but it seems that when they were turned into bats they were haunted by phantom beasts. The same passage also mentions they haunted houses, though if that's the literal interpretation or not is beyond me (info found here).

Solgaleo is based on the Nemean lion. This was a lion that could not be hurt by any sort of attack, as its fur was harder than steel. Its claws were also sharper than any weapons the mortals had, as well as their armor. The lion was eventually killed by Heracles.

Their secondary typing makes sense in light of the Greek mythological stories they are based on.

Makes sense now. I figured the new legends would be based off of SOMETHING.

Honestly psychic typing is a waste on them i would have prefered

Sogaleo fire/steel and
Lunala fairy/ghost

I don't know. It seems weird that they are quad weak to the types typically associated with them (sun w/ fire and Moon w/ Dar/Ghost)

I saw a thing today that said Sogoleo is weak to fire and Lunala is weak to dark

I don't watch Chuggaconroy much anymore but

NINTENDO LOGIC TM

I'm just unsure where the primary Psychic typing comes from. What I posted only explains their secondary types.
I meant the steel part but yea. As for the psychic part, I wondered the same thing about Lugia when I first found out it was psychic instead of water. I think Nintendo just has a huge fetish with psychic pokemon.

I'd prefer Solgaleo to be Fire/Steel, and Lunala Dark/Ghost or Dark/Psychic, but I don't mind too much.

When the mascot of Sun is weak to ****ing fire, ya I kinda mind.

Yeah I really don't agree with their typings at all. :L

Steel and Ghost make sense as secondary typings, but Psychic is just so overused. Solgaleo should've been Fire/Steel and Lunala should've been Fairy/Ghost - Dark/Ghost doesn't really work in my opinion since it would've gained a weakness to Fairy, which seems to have quite a few moon-based themes/moves.

Oh well, not too much of a big deal to me to be honest. They still have some cool designs so I'll still have fun catching and using them in my playthrough.

Sogaleo is weak to fire? Wtf? And Lunala's type was pretty predictable, but it's super weak to dark, and that ruins it.

After giving it a bit more thought, I think Solgaleo and Lunala are part of the "all space-related Pokemon are part Psychic type" trend. Solrock, Lunatone, Jirachi, Deoxys, and Elgyem/Beheeyem are all part of this trend, and now it seems that Solgaleo and Lunala are following them.

EDIT: Palkia isn't Psychic type, my bad lmao... So aside from him there doesn't really seem to be much else that breaks the trend.
