I don't think it's necessary. It seems like everyday someone crates a thread either talking about how they started a hunt to find him (or another villager), or to say they finally managed to get him.

It adds nothing to the forum at this point, especially because the relevant information about this is related to the campsite method, which already has it's own thread explaining how it works.

These topics only serve as "free posts" for people to post "congrats" and move on. It also doesn't help that many users who aren't familiar with the campsite method keep asking "what is the campsite method?" on these threads, which wouldn't be needed if they were directed to the campsite method thread in the first place.

It also makes me feel bad knowing that I received a warning for "post quality" because I posted "MJ_eating_popcorng.jpg" as a response to yet another thread where we had the same drama we were seeing every single day, while people keep just posting "congrats" (which also doesn't add to the discussion, bumps the useless topic and for all intends and purposes, is the same as what I've posted when it comes to the rules regarding the warning I received) and get away with it.

These topics (and I'm not talking only about the ones about Raymond or any other "I got villager xxxxx") are everywhere and I honestly don't understand why they're still a thing.

i mean, they’re excited, and they want to share it with people. maybe there should be a thread dedicated to it; maybe there shouldn’t. i dunno.

The mods created a thread to concentrate all the "Rank my Villagers" threads in one single thread, probably because they were popping up from left to right, polluting the forum more than anything. It helped a lot.
The same could (and in my opinion, should) be done with all the other redundant threads like these.

a single "post the last villager you found" thread would be stellar, i feel like every day i see a "guess who i got" or "i found him!" or other similarly clickbaity titles and it's like... we don't have to guess we know it's raymond

i get being excited but as you said the rest of the posts in these threads don't really amount to any discussion.

Yeah, the titles sound like I'm on YouTube or seeing one of those adds that try to make you click on them out of curiosity. The thing got old so fast that people are using clickbaits as if we were on YouTube.

honestly, i kinda agree. they don’t add anything new or exciting whatsoever. with an abundance of raymonds, one can expect endless celebratory raymond posts... that are all exactly... the same...

i second the “last villager you found” thread idea. at this point if everyone is making an individual thread about finding one villager, it’s just clutter

I'll close the topic since @Vrisnem just created a thread to solve this issue.

Thanks for this!

Edit: I didn't know I couldn't close a topic created in this area. Either way, I changed the title of the topic.

Click the three dots on the top of the page...

I did that, but it seems like topics created in this area doesn't work like the ones created in other areas. I only see options to either edit the thread or to create a poll. The option to close the thread isn't available here.

I didn't realize that was a thing (new to the forum) but oddly... I let a villager go because I was going to go on some island trips to find a new one or to buy one I want on the forums but when I logged on this morning Raymond bought my plot. Ugh. I didn't actually want him but I'll settle for him until he decides to move on lol
