I don't think it's necessary. It seems like everyday someone crates a thread either talking about how they started a hunt to find him (or another villager), or to say they finally managed to get him.
It adds nothing to the forum at this point, especially because the relevant information about this is related to the campsite method, which already has it's own thread explaining how it works.
These topics only serve as "free posts" for people to post "congrats" and move on. It also doesn't help that many users who aren't familiar with the campsite method keep asking "what is the campsite method?" on these threads, which wouldn't be needed if they were directed to the campsite method thread in the first place.
It also makes me feel bad knowing that I received a warning for "post quality" because I posted "MJ_eating_popcorng.jpg" as a response to yet another thread where we had the same drama we were seeing every single day, while people keep just posting "congrats" (which also doesn't add to the discussion, bumps the useless topic and for all intends and purposes, is the same as what I've posted when it comes to the rules regarding the warning I received) and get away with it.
These topics (and I'm not talking only about the ones about Raymond or any other "I got villager xxxxx") are everywhere and I honestly don't understand why they're still a thing.
