OK, so around a year ago i restarted my Pokemon ruby(after i transferred all my Pokemon to gale of darkness of course), hoping to get a shiny starter Pokemon. So i saved right in front of the bag where all the starter Pokemon were, and after a while i got bored of resetting and thought to myself "i wonder how long this will take". So i looked up what the chances were for getting a shiny Pokemon. I was stupefied when i found out that i had only a 1/8192 at getting a shiny Pokemon. So I went back to my DS and tested how long it took me to turn the game on,find out if the Pokemon was shiny or not and then turn off my DS. It took me thirty seconds. So i figured there are 60 sec. in a minute, 60 min. in an hour, and 24 hours in a day. So,(theoretically) i would be able to restart 2880 times with out stopping and at a constant pace. I then divided 8192 by 2880. and found the answer was 2.84(four with a bar over it.) That meant (theoretically) in 2.84 days i could get a shiny starter, if i didn't take a break.

Edit:I actually don't think all the math is right......if it's not I'll give the fist person to find the mistake 200k

Just something I found interesting.(yes i figured all that out myself, and no it wasn't hard to.)

It doesn't work like that.
