Something I've never seen before in AC:NL

Maybe I just got lucky (unlucky?) and didn't see this at all after 2 years of playing, but in my second town (recently took over someone else's) I walked into my mayor's house while the mayor of my other town was visiting, and there was a roach running around. When I stepped on it/walked over it, it's soul floated upwards and disappeared. There's a new one every time I go into another room, even when I walk back into a room I was just in. Maybe it's because my second town is no longer a beautiful town? Anyone else ever seen this? Any input would be appreciated.

I've seen this a lot on wild world but never New Leaf. I'm pretty sure it happens when you're no longer a beautiful town and/or when you don't play for long periods of time

I think that's supposed to be normal. It happened to me before a lot so I think it's fine.

Interesting New leaf is the first animal crossing game I've played, so it surprised me when I saw it. I didn't know if it was rare, or maybe an easter egg kind of thing xD

Yeah this is normal. I have had them in my house heaps of times because my town was at a low environment rating. But now I have the perfect ordinance my houses don't get them anymore.

I've only seen it in Wild World when you don't play for a long time. Your town is covered in weeds and the house is full of roaches. Most people have the Beautiful Town Ordinance in New Leaf, which is why you rarely see roaches.
