So it's not a big thing, but it is quite annoying, and I can see it getting worse it the future.. So I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this or know how to fix it. Basically, and I'll use New Leaf as the example since it's the only game I'm playing at the moment, but every time I move the circle pad downwards and then let it go to neutral position, my character just keeps moving down the map. Or if I'm talking to a villager/npc and I have dialogue choices, it will just scroll down the list automatically and I'll accidentally press the wrong option, like cancelling everything. It's annoying when I'm trying to lay a pattern down or dig a hole in a particular spot because my character will just keep moving down and leave the spot I need her to be. So what should I do? Stick it out? Send it for repair? Buy a new 3DS? I've already tried recalibrating it in the setting. It's driving me nuts!
Sending it in for repair will cost just as much as buying a new 3DS, so I recommend you get a 2DS, as long as you're fine with no clamshell design or 3D.
OH! I had that same exact problem! All I did was re-calibrate it, and it fixed! It's been working ever since. When you try to calibrate it, it might not go to one side. Just push on it a bit, and it'll eventually go. Don't push too hard, or it could end up breaking. You might have to re-calibrate it a couple times.
Yeah, try to re-calibrate a few more times. If the problem still persists, I think it's time to buy a new 3DS/2DS? I agree that it may cost as much as buying a brand new unit if you have it repaired. Maybe your circle pad is starting to show it's age? Hopefully not though, and it gets fixed naturally by not spending money
