Have you ever encountered a song somewhere and thought to yourself, "Hey, this sounds very similar to that other song I like!"? Well, this is the place to share it!
This is something I've always wanted to discuss. As many of you know, lots of music artists take inspiration from those who've had success in the past, and some of the influence can be heard in today's music. Some will even take a song and cover it themselves, occasionally putting their own style on it. However, some unrelated songs might sound a bit too similar to others, which may or may not be a coincidence. I have two examples:
"Why Did You Do It?" by Stretch (1975) & "Couldn't Get It Right" by Climax Blues Band (1976)
"Water from a Vine Leaf" by William Orbit (1993) & "Airport Infiltration" by Swallow Studios (1999, Toy Story 2: Buzz Lightyear to the Rescue!)
So, know of two songs from completely different artists that share a ton of similarities? Remember, straight-up covers of older songs don't count.

The guitar playing and BPM are pretty similar to each other. Both also have brass solo sections.
"Water from a Vine Leaf" by William Orbit (1993) & "Airport Infiltration" by Swallow Studios (1999, Toy Story 2: Buzz Lightyear to the Rescue!)
Both share the same type of vibe, and there are piano parts mixed throughout.
