I just had this epiphany while complaining about no co-op games. The Japanese Easter event is set to last from the 1st to the 12th of April. If ours follow suit, we will have nearly half a month of festivities... perhaps including multiplayer mini games you can do for certain items relating to that holiday. It seems like such a perfect way to utilize the increase 8 player cap.
What was the one thing about mini games on the island most thought annoying. Repetitive. You couldn’t always get the same ones to pick from, And you can finish all of them too quickly!
Seasonal mini games means we can’t burn ourselves out too fast. And they change every holiday or event.
With the long holidays, timer mechanic being in game and increased player cap; This seems like a likely possibility.
