Probably an odd post but I have a few questions for those that have caught a Spider Crab in the new diving feature
1. Are you in Northern or Southern hemisphere?
2. What time of day did you catch the crab?
3. How long did it take for you to find a crab?

Here's pictures for those who don't know what I'm talking about (Pictures aren't mine, they're just taken off Google)
Times like these make me wish you could get bugs / fish from others

Shrimps, lobsters, crabs, ect are my fave animals I was over the moon when I discovered this. My personal plan is to have a million of them at my towns entrance. I could imagine it would snip or something

Okay so apparently you can only catch them at these times:
Northern Hemisphere: March to April
Southern Hemisphere: September to October

If anyone happens to be within those times for your own hemisphere and wouldn't mind me coming over to catch some, let me know! I'll pay you, I'm desperate for some lol

I've timed traveled to march to get one. They are quick and takes a while to spawn because they're rare. I've let my friends come to catch a few but it does take a while.

Holy crab! I love it.
I wish most things could be placed like this. My town is overrun with snapping turtles currently and I love them all, and a single horseshoe crab roomba in my house.

I’m waiting until SH has them legitimately and then I’m traveling for them. I need a crab rave on my Cracker Barrel beach.

Ah! I'm so glad they've added more free standing creatures. Isn't the horseshoe crab also without a tank? I want lots of them either way.

I wish that were the case but since Nintendo is a Japanese company and they tend to keep fireflies in traditional containers instead of jars that’s why it’s the case.

I have the snapping turtle and a cute Japanese fish (will check but comes in decorative bowl?.)

Yeah the horseshoe crab also doesn't have a tank. The Isopod also has a quite unique one where he's peeking out of his tank

Super agree with this. I put one by my campsite just cause I had expected it to be in a glass bottle : P

definitely gonna have to catch some of these, currently my island is infested with horseshoe crabs all over the place

I bet that thing will be a speedy demon. All the crustaceans are speedsters.

We have to use our dolphin powers to catch it.

I was so disappointed that the flea had a glass covering it but no glass jar for the firefly, otherwise I would have had a bunch of them

when they are free and roaming at night it is prettiest ever. I tried putting the containers everywhere and it does fit the surrounding. You can't even stack em. smh.


OP. If you're still looking for a spider crab I would be willing to TT and open my gate to you a for an hour or so.

I tried to do that as well, but it looks kinda bulky. I even made a model of one, hoping that I could have the backside glowing like a makeshift lamp, but it’s too dull to really be impressive.
