I tested that yesterday and there was absolutely no difference for me. Maybe if I had 3 main RSU abilities it would be different.
So I'm 90% sure I ran into a hacker just now. Was playing on Walleye when a roller used the Kraken and cornered this one player. Instead of killing them, however, the Kraken just kept bouncing off like the player was using a Bubbler, and it even made the deflect sounds. Thing is, they were using a regular Splattershot. I didn't get to test killing them myself since they were on my team, but they didn't have any deaths at the end of the match.

Might just be me but the fact that they have perfect gear, are level 50, have S rank, and are using something basic like a Splattershot seems very suspicious.
Might just be me then, but I certainly feel faster when wearing them. Happened without me even realizing I had an RSU on so that's why I wondered lol

The kraken might have been right next to them and tried to attack but because pretty much any regular shooter can stop a kraken the "hacker" probably just shot them enough to keep them away. Then the kraken might have tried to attack again, ect., giving the appearance of bouncing. I noticed that krakens are easily pushed while attacking so it's likely that helped the other guy survive.

The Kraken was recently nerfed to be easier to push back (though I just run from them then shoot them).
Also, splattershots and other basic weapons are still pretty popular. Some people really know how to work the burst bombs as melee weapons, and I still see these weapons with players who are level 35+ and in ranked. They're not fun to come up against up-close where they're best, especially if the other player has a defense up. ;;

Yeah it was nerfed, but the Kraken was literally right on top of the player and they were completely cornered. It wasn't like the Kraken had some distance, they were like colliding the whole time.
It might've just been pushed back, but from where I was standing it didn't even look like the player was firing at it.
I tend to see a lot of people using the Splattershot now, but only the really skilled players. Seems like an obvious choice for those who love Burst Bombs and know how to use them.

Just tested this comparing 3 main RSU abilities vs no RSU abilities on mains or subs.
They were exactly the same speed.
Hmm i think you are right. The perfect gear thing is actually very common so that should not be indicating that the player is a hacker. Nor the rank or level since i like to play with basic weapons even if they are not that useful. Because for me fun has the higher priority, winning is not everything.

Yeah, I was just saying that since the player in question seemed to have flawless stats it made me a bit more suspicious.
Mhm i understand, i only have one perfect piece of gear and it is my Splatoon Hairclip. It has 3 main weapon inksavers!
Keep a look out around you because then you can bait people and you'll see whos around you without looking at the map.
Don't stay away from a weapon because someone says you'll go nowhere with it.

I'd never be able to get perfect subs on something without the higher roll rate aha. Cuttlegear would not be nice to me. ;-;
