My island is sitting pretty at 2-Stars right now. Isabelle has never once commented on the plant life on the island so until she does, I'm assuming the game thinks I have enough trees, fruit trees and flowers on the island to count towards the greenery.

She has suggested all of the following: Spend Nook Miles to decorate the island (twice), use furniture you've crafted to decorate the island, put up some fencing. And now she's suggesting I add bridges and inclines. I already have two natural ramps on my island, the log bridge I crafted to start the Town Hall upgrade and of course the lone red zen bridge that I built post Town Hall.

I have about 24 items decorating the island, all of them would be considered outdoor furniture, four of which are Nook Miles furniture and fifth one that isn't a recipe being mailed to me tomorrow. Soooo my question is about how many bridges and inclines and how many outdoor furniture items/decorations do I need to reach that 3-Star rating?

With the exception of the second and third tiers, I de-weeded the entire lowest level of my island (I want to keep that natural wilderness look. look of cedars, lillies and weeds on the upper levels IF I can get away with it. Plus Sly lives on the second tier in a log cabin...THAT is theming right there) because I heard on here that pulling weeds does help.

How many villagers do you have?

I had 2 bridges, one incline, a ton of flowers and a ton of trees and about 30 items outside... fencing counts as it's own thing as well so I put fencing around all my villager homes.

I was stuck at 2 stars until I got my 8th villager. Then I jumped right to 3.

I had two total bridges and some stairs as well as plenty of furniture (doesn’t matter what type) placed around the island and got 3 stars on Thursday. The key is the placing of furniture such as lamps, perhaps a outdoor bath or even a potted plant.

I have 8 villagers. Piper is unpacking her boxes today as the 8th resident. I did put up 15 fences around some lillies I planted near my house, but I didn't count that towards the outdoor furniture when I said 24. Also didn't count a Simple DIY Workbench I have set up.

I dont believe that fencing counts as outdoor furniture. Its it's own category so you need a good amount of fencing on TOP of everything else.

Approximately how many fence boards should I put up?

I plan on taking everything down after K.K. comes to town simply because I'm still deciding on the look I want to go for when decorating my island. All I know is a few small details. What I want to start with infrastructure-wise, the flowers and how I want fruit trees set up and all. But other then that, so the decorating I'm doing now is merely to finish up Project K by the end of the week.

If you have the flowers/trees you can just dump random furniture outside. A friend of my did this and kept talking to Isabelle until the 3 star rating.

I hope it happens soon. I might craft a few more pieces, set them up and place the pool tomorrow to see what happens. I know some people have said after they met the 3-Star requirements they still had to wait til the next day. Not sure if that factors into it or not.

I second this. I had one extra bridge, zero fencing, and just kept throwing down random furniture here and there until I got three stars. I didn't even need a ton of furniture, either.

But was it more then 25 and less then 30? Because that's the neighborhood I'm in at the moment and I'm hoping the number needed isn't randomized so I can use similar furniture to counts to what others used to get there.

When I got the 3 star rating, I only had fences around my house (~30) and self-crafted items on my island (~20). It's also important to not have "trash" on the ground, which is your stuff on the ground such as tools and items. I also have 50+ flowers around my island.

I don't think it was more than 25, but I wasn't counting. I also wasn't actively trying for a 3 star rating. I just put furniture around and occasionally checked with Isabelle, so it took several days before I got there.

Ah ok. I'm actively trying mostly because I'm almost there. And I skipped a day of consecutively adding villagers to try and get the picnic set from Isabelle...then I got it from a balloon anyway.
