Spooked by villager

Has anyone ever had one of your villagers spook you out by saying that someone is on the Island that doesn't live there? I've just has Benjamin do it to me, had a quick look round but can't see anyone.

When I started up my 2nd island (the new one that I just restarted) Plucky was next to me and I was like "GET AWAY FROM ME!" like seriously I felt like I was getting spied on.

I got a similar dialogue before from a villager but I barely remember the details since it’s been so long. Iirc, they say things like that to allude to Wisp being around or something.

I've definitely had that dialogue before too. I can't remember the details either, but I'm pretty confident I looked around and found an NPC.

I don't remember that dialogue and its been awhile since I've played. Maybe a NPC is lodged behind your cliffs or somewhere dumb. I definitely had them spawn in what I believed as 'impossible' areas.

I recall someone told me it's just Wisp. But I am pretty sure I haven't seem him after doing a lap around my island.

This is the exact conversation I had with Benjamin, and yes I did bump into wisp a bit later on in the game.

Yes, wisp appeared later on in the game.

That line actually spooked me the first time. But now, when villagers say somthing creepy at night, I'm just like, "Oh, Wisp is here." A part of me wishes that I shouldn't have known that. I liked the creepy vibes.

Yeah it spooked me too last night, first time any of my villagers had said anything like that, at least now I know just to expect to find wisp.
