Guest, can you feel the love in the air? Valentine's Week at The Bell Tree has begun with a new mini-event featuring four activities to enjoy -- new and returning collectibles are up for grabs! Dive in to the love here.
Am I reading it correctly that you're saying he's opportunistic for pushing Trundle and I? If you can even call that pushy. Or are you saying the Dino thing is opportunistic?
I don't think it was as intense as you originally stated. Atleast, I didn't intend it to be...
I just stated my suspicions as I felt dad would've been "on it" regarding Trundles early game read. I never said my suspicions were alignment indicating.
I don't think people should be coming up with sus indicating conclusions as early in the game as Trundle did, especially as something as little as that. I stated my suspicions, never said anything was sus btw.
Also, tone don't mean anything as someone can be aggressive af and still be town. It's about the motive behind the tone and I don't think DinoTown is attempting to appeal to town.
Felt kind of white knight-ish and like he was FOSing you both decently hard which seemed far too intense for an early-game reaction. That said, don't think the post's got those vibes anymore

She'd already left and it was an incredibly gut ping more than anything

Volt and Teddy haven't really given me any scum vibes so far. Mayor Leaf just kinda posted and ghosted but they're brand new. Got weird vibes from epona's interactions with me. bell hasn't really given me anything ai, I don't disagree with Trundle seeming towny so far from Kat I just feel wary of people townreading him so quickly because of the way he can get
1) New or old, what is your impression of the game of mafia? This is a fun game and I wish I'd started playing sooner, honestly. The methods and tactics you think would work only work about 50% of the time and it makes each game something new and interesting. I've been reading the current Champs games which is cool but I'll probably hang back on that while I'm here. 2) What will you do to find mafia? Unfortunately, with the high number of players I don't know currently, I can see myself kinda retreating back to the way I was at the start of last game. I'm gonna try and not do that though and trust my gut - because trusting my gut worked very well last time. 3) Do you have any prior experience with mafia or something you can relate to mafia? I have only a single other mafia game under my belt, but also used to play a lot of town of Salem and have been a part of Madness (a game very similar to mafia that provides story-based clues) for a couple of years now. 4) What was the last mistake you made in a game of mafia? If you haven't played before, what is the last mistake you feel comfortable talking about? Ehehe... I think my last major mistake might have been hopping onto the wagon and lynching you, Geoni... sorry 'bout that. 5) What are your preferred pronouns She/her yes I am a girl I swear to god the number of times la 6) Compliment the person above you! 6) Compliment the person above you! Last person to post was @bell account so hi, I'm looking forward to getting to know you and play with you!
Onto the elephant in the room about my first post, gimme a sec
Last game DinoTown was more reserved and quiet but now seems overly enthusiastic to make a good impression on everyone. It just is raising a big red flag for me. I think enthusiastic D1 starts like that are always super suspicious.
While I agree I probably do have a sudden surge in enthusiasm, I think you should probably consider it from my side of things.
Last game I had NEVER played mafia before.
This game, I have only played mafia ONCE before and, as many people have said, "single-handedly" saved the town and got MVP. (I give half the credit to glow honestly but still, I've had comments such as 'DinoTown is a grade A bad(censored)' and stuff.
I think it's personally reasonable that I'm going to be much more and very excited to play after I've 'saved the town on my own' on my first ever game.
I realise it's very hard to talk about this without sounding egotistical but hey ho

At the start, no, no I did was. I was very unsure of myself, and was just following whoever I thought at the time was "they seem like a good player and people think they're town, therefore their opinions are probably right" and voted wherever they voted. It was bad, contributed to Geoni being mislynched D2 and nearly mislynched Tae. At this point, we caught a mafia but the day after, Shawo was pushing for Tae again, and something about it felt weird to me, so I placed the vote for Shawo. Woke up in the morning to find that turned into a wagon, Shawo was lynched and was mafia. So yes, I am very confident about my gameplay in the latter part of that game. But only the latter.
The first half was a mess, and I attribute half of it to wanting the people I didn't know well to think good of me. Since I've played with only 3 of the players this game before, I can see myself slipping back to that 'This person looks right so I'll just copy them.' I don't want to, obviously, and will try to avoid it.

'i did was' I mean 'i did not'.
cannot type when I wake up.
more on that in a sec
Can't really question Dino on it when she's asleep but she has a similar schedule as I do iirc. The line I assume we're both talking about is how expressing that you're staying up late just to see how you can handle it comes off as like...'I'm making it an open point to take the time out of my schedule to see how EoD works for me' but I think it's fair to not immediately slap AI on that because I've been in that terrible EoD timing before.
I suppose I should expand upon that a little bit to make sure everything is clear.
I have idiopathic hypersomnia. I regularly can sleep for 9-10 hours, rarely feel refreshed, have sleep drunkenness a lot and occasionally suffer from excessive daytime sleeping.
Going to 4am (like last game was) was an absolute no-go with that, but given I can usually do 11pm without much of a problem, I decided to push myself to midnight to see if there was much of a difference. I was gonna throw one message in here, sleep, then catch up in the morning. Given how I feel this morning, I think my presence at EoD will be a rare treat, but I should be around 1-2 hours before at least, unlike much longer gaps from last game.
I mean, even so you had a good run and you are feeling optimistic about this game, the comfort zone is tempting? Well, can't go wrong with some independency, specially on delicate states.
Anyway, I guess I just thinking out loud, but I wonder why your answers are so thought out, when most just meme'd. I guess people are different, but I feel like your answers your directly influenced by the gut read from Truddle, and I understand the need for defense but I don't see why all your answers needed so heavy on self-promoting trustable.

i'm getting town vibes from trundle:
latching onto something as arbitrary as somebody's first-post enthusiasm at the very offset of D1 is too blatant to be scummy, fmpov. sussing dinotown with so little to go off at that point was obviously going to draw attention so i think it's coming from an active townie play more than anything else
leaning town for antonio too, seems to me that he's just trying to tease out clarifications from what little has been brought to the table thus far. i don't think his post was too pushy or FoS-y but kat has since retracted that statement anyway
i'm feeling pretty null on kat, voltairnism, bell account and geoni so far
i don't have enough to go by for kat, really, seeing as the comments about antonio were withdrawn
geoni, i find it weird that you say you're pinged by your interaction with me when it was an interaction that you initiated by asking me a question that seemed designed to try and catch me out in one way or another? that said, there's very little going on right now so if you're just offering up thoughts on basically anything, then fair enough. to elaborate on my answer, the last forum mafia game i played was twice the amount of players as this one (and was also 6 years ago, lol) so i'm not too clear on smaller setups / whether things are standardised etc which is why your question threw me off a bit
voltairnism and bell account (esp voltairnism) have been hovering a bit without contributing anything original but i think it's probably too early to say whether that's AI or not
as for dinotown,
originally i wasn't on board with trundle's enthusiasm comment. i read through the most recent game (not all of it because it was hella long) and considering it was her first game and it went well for her in the end, i'd write the 'enthusiasm' in her first post off as simply a more confident / self-assured entry. i also don't think it's unusual for players in a timezone where cycles begin and end late at night to write an introductory post on D1 and then leave for the night to avoid being sussed for being inactive when they're asleep.
I'm gonna try and not do that though and trust my gut - because trusting my gut worked very well last time.

this seems off to me? bringing up the past game in such a pointed way feels a bit 'trust me i'm a proven town saviour' for my liking. i think the newbie card is being milked a bit too, considering she has played town of salem a lot in the past. forum mafia is a different beast, yes, but the concept and strategies are fairly similar so the self-congratulatory reminiscing on the last game as some sort of miraculous first attempt sits a bit funny with me.

lol what
Trundle asked why I was so enthusiastic. I explained why I am so enthusiastic. I did well in my first game and that makes me excited to play again (I mean, slap ongoing stir crazy in lockdown and everything but whatever)
Goodness I am in no way a town saviour, I'm shocked I even lived that long in the first game. But I'm allowed to be excited to see if I can do well again.

i'm not questioning or commenting on your enthusiasm, i'm questioning why you're drawing attention to (multiple times) and hammering the fact that you singlehandedly saved town in the last game. it comes across as overegging it to me.

i'm referring to you brining it up twice in the same post, as well as really drilling the newbie card when you said yourself you've played a lot of ToS before this

Talking about one topic in one post hardly counts as bringing it up 'multiple times', and I am a newbie at forum mafia, I've played one game of it. I know the mechanics are similar but still, not saying they aren't, but playing ToS years ago doesn't mean I'm going to be great at playing forum mafia now
