Stalk market vs island

I think the stalk market is more profitable than the island money and time wise(just saying) Thats how it feels for me. What about you guys?

I prefer the island during the evening to the stalk market. It may be more time consuming, but I've noticed I can get a pretty good profit from there by fishing and bug collecting. If done for long enough, I can rack up a pretty good amount of bells in a few hours without the pressure.
I never really liked the stalk market to begin with since the GameCube days. The prices were always changing each week so you never knew what you'd be getting during the week they were purchased. Could be high or low. Then there's the price change per day after purchase. If not sold within that week they'd expire. It could get pretty stressful.
With island fishing and bug collecting it's much more relaxing to know that whatever you catch won't die or lose their value no matter how many days it's been since you caught them when it comes to finally selling them.
That's how it feels for me...

Under normal circumstances, I'd prefer the island.

However, with the success Stalk Market Community spreadsheet, I'll go with the stalk market now. You basically can't lose. =)

I accept your decision I like going to the island too, but I made more in 2 hours with the stalk market than I could on the island (Even if its 400-500k per trip)
I still love the island its refreshing and minigames are awesome+ I need swimsuits...n mini hammer of dooom!

You can only buy turnips once a week. You can go to the island daily. Yes, it's possible to make a LOT of money with turnips. But it also requires a lot of money in advance. You only need 1,000 bells per island trip and can make several hundred thousand bells.

That's how I see it anyway. I do both methods, but I make more money from the island so far, just because I can do it daily. I've so far been able to buy turnips only twice (I'm on day 15).

I do both methods, I save up bells from the island to pay for turnips. So that makes a super profit!! XD

Same, but it's more of a time zone issue for me. I can't reliably visit any of my friends since so far they're all in Europe or US, and when I can set up times, those would be scheduled times and therefore the turnips might not be selling at a high price then.

I just do turnips within my own town.

Stalk market. Made 8million in about an hour unloading all my turnips yesterday.

Lucked out and had the price in my town go above 500bells (bought for 92), but still it is obscene how much money you can make basically doing nothing. I have easy access to 3 other town thanks to local friends, so if my town is doing poorly it is easy to go elsewhere.

I don't feel like spending a few hours a night running the same circle around that island anymore after I made enough money to start doing large amounts of turnips. I don't find it fun and would rather go do something else.

Well I'm just starting the Stalk market. But I'm getting my funds from the beetles on the island.
We'll see how that goes.
The Island is a great alternative !
