I immediately fell in love with this entire premise, and am now enthusiastically committed to making a small record of what happens on this lovely island. I will be starting with a bit of Back-Reading, since I had not known of these forums till quite recently.

The Basic Rundown of Journal Formatting
I will be including photos occasionally to show how much progress has been made. Be prepared to dive into the slightly complex lore of My Island. There is A Lot. Journal Entries will also be done "In Character". While I do see my character as an extension of me, I don't see them as "purely me". I also think it's cute to have it be In Universe, it will probably help with the immersion. As it has been hinted, there is a story to the island and I will tell it over the entries as I make them.

In character documentation will be written in purple. Anything out of character will be handled in standard black. Dialogue between characters may be included but for spoiler reasons, I will not reveal their identities until we get deeper into our story. If/When dialogue is included, I will specify character colors.

It should be pretty obvious that all of this pertains to My Head Canons, and in no way is meant to say "this is the way it's going to be for everyone". This is how I have been having fun in the game and just wanted to preface this is just my opinion and everyone is welcome to their own head canons! This is also my own original story, in case that needed to be stated.

Now that we have all of that out of the way, let's hop right in!

The First Day, 4/23/20
I arrived at The Airport, not quite knowing what to expect. An Island Getaway Package? Honestly, this whole thing had been done on a whim. It gets... I don't want to use the word lonely, that doesn't seem quite right. I suppose maybe it would be better to talk a little bit about myself, so you can get a clear idea of the situation.

The TL; DR is that I'm a Spider God. It's not exactly what it sounds like, honestly it's a more Spooky Occupation than you would immediately think. I'm sure there's more to it, but that isn't really why I'm writing in This Journal? It's to chronicle my time on The Surface. I was advised to "blend in" with my surroundings, so I started off with a simple two-eye structure. (Most of the residents on The Surface tend to have two eyes and I am not trying to scare them off immediately) It's been a little disorienting being in a body, admittedly getting the controls functioning was nightmarish. (It's inefficient is what this is)

I'm getting distracted, that tends to happen. A lot of thoughts at once.

I arrived at The Airport, greeted by two (adorable) twins who introduced themselves as Tommy and Timmy. I recognized the names. Some data collection on a previous establishment, a town in which the participant acted as "Mayor", had provided me with some basic foundation. They worked for a business tycoon known as Tom Nook. Preliminary research showed public opinion on him to be half-half. Relentless loan shark ready to literally break your knees... or laid back uncle raising two more-or-less nephews into the business world. I didn't have an opinion on him yet, hadn't met him. Seemed nice on the phone.

I hadn't been fully paying attention as the twins gave me the run down and was a little startled when it seemed at once we were packing our bags and heading for the island of my choosing. The flight felt cramped--there were two other occupants with me. I kept to myself, wanted to make sure I knew precisely what I was going to sound like before I spoke. Wouldn't want to send off any alarm bells.

Meeting Tom Nook was surprisingly pleasant. I wasn't sure what to expect but it certainly hadn't been a lazy-eyed middle-aged character who seemed more keen to relax with a cup of coffee than chase after me with a hammer. After some light delegation and our first bonfire, I talked to the other two travelers.

The first of which was Lyman, who didn't seem to be the sharpest tool in the shed but had such a large smile that I couldn't help but want to talk to him a little. He was the most enthusiastic about this whole operation. He set to work on putting all the wood in place that I was out collecting. The other, Agnes, did not seem to be overly involved with the process. I didn't want to tell her that sweeping an already dirt path did nothing to aid us. She seemed to be focused on it.

We had some light celebrations and then that was it. My tent was pitched, a phone in my hand, and slammed with currency that I am pretty sure doesn't actually exist outside of this island system. Not that I was complaining. I hadn't even conceptualized money, it wasn't something I used outside of this body I was currently inhabiting. So paying for it in "Nook Miles" seemed viable? And he hadn't actually given me a due-date, only an ambiguous "have fun, yes yes!".

(Side bar, the cohabitants have catch phrases?)

I have some business to tend to before resting, but I imagine I will have more to chronicle. Here's to the first day on Star Song.
