There’s a few Stardew Valley threads, but I haven’t found one that’s a general thread for it, so here we are . . .

Stardew Valley! You can post anything (including screenshots) ranging from your thoughts on the game, the version you have, which bachelor/ette you married or plan on marrying, what you’re doing on your farm, etc. Everything about Stardew Valley is welcome here. c:

I bought the game a few days ago on my Switch Lite, but I backed up my save data on my dad’s Switch so I can play on the TV. I honestly cannot put the game down and I’m having a lot of fun with it. It’s everything I liked about Harvest Moon and more. I was really happy to hear that same-sex relationships are a thing, so I picked my now-favorite character as a marriage candidate… Abigail! (//w//)

(Spoilers?): I didn’t realize until it was too late that you needed the east side of the beach unlocked to get the mermaid pendant from the Old Mariner on rainy days, and I’m a couple in-game days away from winter… I’m at 10 hearts with Abigail but have to wait for next spring to propose. 😭

I’m tempted to sleep through winter since crops can’t grow in that season, but I think it’d be a good chance to get to the bottom of the mines (I’m at 100 levels), go fishing, clean up my farm, and upgrade my tools.

My older brother gifted me this.

My chromebook can't run steam so it's been sitting in purgatory.

I'd love to play it. I could probably get it on another console but if I'm not mistaken that means we wouldn't be able to play together.

I remember buying it during winter break (and playing it), what a wonderful experience that was.

I recently replayed it and honestly not everything should be an obtainable goal in the first year. There's too much going on.

I had the game installed on my phone at one point but uninstalled it after it got too overwhelming for little 14-year-old me. I reinstalled it a few days ago (thanks, Char) and I hope it goes better than last time! Especially with a tiny screen......

As I'm still new to the game I need to explore everything in it, that's why I'm not really aiming for anything right now. I heard there's a multiplayer option (or am I wrong?) Does it work cross-platform? I'd be happy to play with you if I don't lose interest immediately after, @ZeldaCrossing64 <3

I'm happy you're picking up the game again! I thought my Switch Lite's screen was too small for Stardew Valley (hence why I downloaded the game and save data on my dad's Switch), so I can only imagine what playing on a phone screen is like. 😭

There is multiplayer/co-op, but cross-platform play doesn't work for the game, so we unfortunately can't play together. 😔

I managed to get my brother into Stardew Valley. It was a surprise to me, since his taste in video games is pretty different from mine (he also hated Harvest Moon when he tried it). I was originally going to buy him a copy on the Switch, but we realized that the game was on sale for 50% off on Steam. I also bought myself a copy, and it only costed me under $10 (CAD). 😄

I won't be doing anything vastly different from my original Switch save, but I decided to go with the forest farm and a different bachelor... Harvey! And with the bit of knowledge I've gained while playing the game, I should be making less reckless mistakes this time around. I've been playing all day and it's too fun to put down. :p Plus, it's really nice experiencing 1.6 for the first time.

LOL I made a lot of mistakes my first playthrough 😅
I love the game and need to try and get back into it, I miss Shane 🥺

I spend most of my time in the mines, I love collecting the minerals LOL

Stardew Valley is one of those games I wish I could play for the first time again. Playing it for the first time and discovering things was so magical. I've played so many farming games since then and none of them were as good as Stardew Valley was for me.

I haven't played Stardew in days due to other priorities, but I like it so far. I just wish I didn't get so anxious over making a mistake, lol. Sometimes I end up thinking about resetting my farm again because of something I missed. (For context, it took me a lot of resets before I could confidently get up to the first event, which I'm at right now.) I see some people find this aspect of exploring the game appealing though, so this is likely a "just me" thing. I enjoy ACNH and Cozy Grove more since you don't have to worry about mistakes as much there.

Maybe the reason why I'm like this is because of the game guides I did research with in addition to my resets. I think one of them said you shouldn't miss the townspeople's birthdays. I haven't been very social with them beyond the occasional quest so far, so it would make sense for me to not think too much about that part. I still worry about it though.

And about multiplayer: I learned a few days ago that it's not supported on mobile. 🥲

Ohh a Stardew thread~

I love Stardew, I played it for awhile and really enjoyed it. I wasn't really one to work on progress, in terms of the Community Center, but I rwcently started to do it, and it's nice to have new areas.

I picked the beach farm, which I found out is the most difficult farm and I do agree it is hard. But not impossible. I've always wanted to live on a beach. I named my boy Nori, because it means seaweed and I thought it was fitting. Currently I only have coop animals, more specifically two fully upgraded dinosaur coops~ No complaints. I couldn't be happier.

I chose to date Sebastian dancing with him year one, and then married him three years later. I love my moody dork so much. I like to think he's still working on his game. I started with a kitty, I believe I bought a turtle. My ultimate goal is to buy both turtles.

I love it though, I'd like to do perfection but I know it will be awhile for that. But I'm up for a challenge

I really played this a lot in 2021 I think? It was on sale, but already so cheap anyway so I got it even cheaper. I bought it off the Switch eshop. It was a great game to have during the pandemic, but also when I was being a caregiver for my grandmother. It was a very nice game to just be able to get absorbed in the game for short times and well worth the money.

There's so much content in this game that it's definitely worth way more than the price it's at. Plus there's so many QoL upgrades in Stardew Valley that NH would benefit from. Which is crazy that a game made by one independent indie game developer was able to find super convenient solutions to lots of different things that are issues with NH. Like being able to dump all resources in a given box, finding them easily, being able to pool from pockets/storage when crafting. Nintendo/NH doesn't have any excuse when they're backed by a triple AAA game company.

I remember I took a week vacation off from work just do to whatever I wanted. Somehow I came across this game on the eshop. Heard a lot of talk about it, but never really looked into it. I spent a good bit of that vacation playing this game lol. I haven't really picked the game up much since then. But it looks like the final update is coming to the Switch soon in November. So that will be fun! I probably won't make another game file and will just pick up where I left off. I might not get a lot of mileage in it this time, but I already played it so much that it was well worth the investment.

So I started another save and it was at the river farm. I love the abundance of fish there and it gives me plenty of convenient spots to fish without having to go all the way south.

I also learned that you could zoom in and out on accident. o_o (posted about it in another thread BTW) I feel like more experienced players know this already but I wanted to put it out there. It's really useful and makes it easier for me to navigate places now that I've just discovered this.

Yeah, I’ve been in the mood to play various farming games lately. I recently started over in Stardew Valley and completed the spring foraging bundle today. ^_^

I’m having trouble with fishing, I know you have to keep the fish in the green area, but I’ve been struggling with that >_<

Stardew is literally one of my favorite games EVER, I haven't played it in a bit I need to play it again but I'm kinda just waiting for the update to come out on switch lol

I have the game but haven’t played much of it. Too many games are on my playing radar right now. I do like what I’ve played so far.

I first started playing Stardew Valley in 2018 and it's always had a special place in my heart.💕I racked in over 100 hours (iirc it was the 100-120 range) before falling out of it, and then either occasionally or rarely going on over the years. That is up until this past summer. 👀 I'm not sure what overcame me, but I went absolutely nuts and put in 170-200 hours in a new file and was just grinding for a good month or two. I stopped because I remember the Fair on the forums started + I got busy with my mentorship, but I just picked it up again today!

I'm limited to playing on my Nintendo Switch, so I haven't been able to play the 1.6 update (cries in no PC), but I checked ConcernedApe's twitter today and saw he had made an announcement 1-2 days ago that the 1.6 update is now live on console! 🥹 I swear I dropped everything I was doing and turned my Switch on so fast LOL. I'm definitely enjoying all the new content so far and I know I've barely scratched the surface! I really wanted to start a new file on the new Meadowlands Farm, but considering I made a new file just this past summer, I think I'd rather stick to experiencing the new content with my current farm/file. I was aiming towards perfection status, and I feel like I'm getting there slowly but surely, so I'd love to work on that some more alongside experiencing all the new content. ^^

Fertilizing, planting seeds and calculating just how much of everything you need... After a really long hiatus, I've completely forgotten how intense the first day of any season can be 😬 except for winter, of course.

Yet once it's all done, it's so satisfying. I'm currently on Year 6 in the Beach Farm. We're mostly a ranch/exotic fish market since I have tons of animals and fish ponds, but I like to squeeze in some gardening anywhere I can. Deluxe retaining soil is an absolute godsend on the Beach Farm, and in general.

Grinding to achieve perfection. The Golden Clock is so insanely expensive lol all the funds I've accrued in 5 years just to afford that thing.

I have it set so that monsters spawn at night, but there's this one Slime living on my farm rent free, meaning that ever since it spawned it has never ever de-spawned. It's active from morning to night, every day, which I think must be a glitch, and it's a bugged Slime. It's been around since Year 1 and I'm sure if I kill it, it'll be gone forever.

Now, to save up for the Return Scepter!

I have it on the switch and am currently in year 6 in a forest farm. I m almost done with the community center but I've mostly been exploring the mines, building friendships with everyone and farming. I adore this game so much it's one of my favorites <3
