Last time on the StarFall Journal, I talked about my very first town I had in ACNL. I talked about who lived there, the worst experiences with my town, why I deleted my town, and how I tried to plan it. Today is going to be similar, but on my second town - Belcroft.

Like Westport, Belcroft had the same grass pattern and was on the same 3DS. However, it's more like StarFall than Westport. Unlike Westport, I actually liked Belcroft. It was my longest town I ever kept in New Leaf. Unlike StarFall, Belcroft isn't a good enough town for a dream town. In this entry, I will talk about the characters, how I planned the town, what mistakes I didn't want to repeat, and the deletion of Belcroft.

Characters:

Kaylee:

Since Kaylee was my best character in Westport, I decided to make her mayor of Belcroft, making Belcroft my first town where she is mayor. But I still didn't put personality into her until StarFall. Also, I kept the most recent outfit of Kaylee's from Westport to begin with and came up with her outfit she primarily wears in StarFall (no, not the winter coat, I'm talking about the schoolgirl one). Unlike last town (but like StarFall), her birthday is on October 1st.

Hawk:

Yes, I know that is a weird name, but that was the name of my first character I ever made in Wild World. Until later, I decided to have only one character. Hawk was one of the three alts I made very late. He lived south of the river, where Kaylee lived. His house was a gorgeous mansion, where every room follows the Gorgeous Series. His outfit was a Victorian man outfit with top hat and monocle.

Morgan:

Morgan was my third character. I did not put too much personality in him, but he was known for having a sweets house. The exterior and every room in the house is all sweets themed.

Jordan:

Jordan was my fourth character. She had the same eyes the girl on the front cover in City Folk had, but the exact same hairstyle Jenny has. Her house was supposed to be a regular house (as her backyard is a poor resemblance to Jenny's basement).

Planning Belcroft:

After keeping Westport for four months, I felt like it's time that I move onto a new town. Belcroft was the name of another town I had in Wild World, my second last town more specifically. It was supposed to be spelled "Bellcroft", but that was too long, so I dropped out one of the l's from the name. I made Kaylee my mayor since I liked her in the past town. Now you can understand why I primarily play female characters.

The first thing I did was that I gave all of my most prized possessions away to a holder town before I can start deleting Westport. These items I wanted to carry on to Belcroft. After doing so, I deleted Westport for good. I then created Belcroft as it was going to be my new permanent town. I had to look for the best maps. The map I wanted was any map where the south side of the river was small and cozy. This time, I wanted all my animals to be north of the river while the south side is Kaylee's personal part of town.

After I created Belcroft, I had to pick up the items from the holder town. Then I continued on in town creation. One thing I did was that I made Kaylee's house primarily Sci-fi, but not completely. Her second floor room is similar to Ferry's second floor room. Her back room is similar to her second floor room in Westport and her second floor room in StarFall. Her left room is an Astro hotel room, and her right room is a spaceship room. Her basement was an arcade, but not like her basement in StarFall.

One of my ideas was that I am going to have a Café on the south side of the river between two bridges. Next to the Café is a lamp. In front of the Café is a fountain. Then I was going to have two illuminated arches, a clock in between, and a tower and lighthouse in front of the southern illuminated arch. The south side of the river was L-shaped, as planning the rest was a chore.

When I created Belcroft, I actually decided to start out in January rather than in the month I created it in (October). I didn't want to mess up with the timeline from the town tree. I only got things done as I time traveled forward.

Until very late in my town (like after my 21st birthday), I decided to make a few changes. I planned on having four characters again. And Kaylee's house was revamped to being a space castle like what you see in StarFall. And I added a few paths, but it wasn't original.

The last thing I would like to talk about is the trees. Since Belcroft's fruit is the apple, I made all of the trees south of the river perfect apple trees as the trees north of the river are other fruit trees with pine trees marking the first row in town.

Mistakes I didn't want to repeat:

I didn't want to have a town like Westport that time, but of all the mistakes I made in Westport that I didn't plan on repeating in Belcroft, only two of them were never repeated. One of them was the Café incident. That time, I finished my Café project before a day that is devoid of an event. I finally got to host my Café ceremony. I'm still upset that I never got to do so on my first town, but at least I got that done in Belcroft (and my best town ever - StarFall). I also didn't go back to catch any fish and insects.

But here the other things I didn't plan on doing that I somehow did:

  • I wanted to not get to T&T Emporium this time. However, I eventually remodeled my store to get to that point. At least StarFall doesn't have their department store yet.
  • I planned on having only one character since it is hard to take care of more than one character. I ended up creating four characters later on.
  • I didn't want to time travel back and forth non-stop. I had to do that to get the art I'm missing.

All of these things are some of the things I did in Westport as I eventually deleted my town later on. I ended up doing these things AND deleted my town.

Deletion:

I thought I never had to do this, but this time, I felt that I need to restart my town. Not to mention, I needed to get a new 3DS. After keeping it for 8 months, I had to let this town go. Inspired by the dream towns I saw, my town didn't look that good enough. So I had to delete my town once again. But it never happened until StarFall was well-prepared.
