My guess is that it's because the villagers won't remember you, so they won't talk about you. I know some people really don't like others to talk to their actual villagers.

Ah, ok, I was wondering if there was some unidentified nook mile achievement; and it is a convenience, since our gates wouldn't have to be open.

It is also the convince of going any time and not having to wait and go through all the dialog. I am just wanting to visit villagers to help me decide who I really like because I want to eventually get amiibos and this is my first animal crossing game. The Sanrio Amiibos releasing soon is pushing me to get through my long list I had. My list is small enough now that randomly visiting DAs isn't cutting it and I am pretty sure a chunk of these listed aren't that popular so the chance of running into them is small.
