Stuck in dis sticky situation

Maybe, cause then if your grades start slipping, it would be noticeable. They'll know they were right in warning you about Tumblr, and you shouldn't have been on it. :)

But I'm a genius.

Lol, that's a good point. Honestly though, I wouldn't dedicate so much time to it my grades would slip.

I've never been bullied on Tumblr, but I can tell you, if you are a bit young, there are some naughty naughty stuff happening there xD
I wouldn't recommend it to younger people 'cos if you type something ambiguous in your tag search, kof kof, people display naughty stuff D8

I was once looking at Disney gifs, and I came across this disgusting picture of something no one should ever see. Though I know not to type in rude things.

I mean it all depends on your age, how old are you?

Do what your parents say, if you have a nice relationship with them life is soooo much easier

*coughs* 12 *coughs*

I hear enough dirty minded, rude things at school anyway I guess xD

I feel that 12 is slightly a bit young, tbh, I would recommend starting using tumblr at 14.
If I saw what I see on tumblr at your aged, I would've :
1) Lost my innocence
2) Be disgusted by the world
3) perhaps traumatized

There were these boys in my old school who used FB when they were 8.

But yes, I guess you're right. In a way I'm quite mature, and would try to ignore and avoid rude things. I guess this is for my own enjoyment and not to witness rude things.

We sound exactly the same. I am like, same age, same personality, same interests (ACNL)

Sometimes I regret having a Tumblr account due to drama (e.g. Rooster Teeth's recent Cards Against Humanity controversy, overly aggressive SJWs, etc.) Though I have found it very useful (Spaces for Neuroatypicals, amazing food blogs, etc.) and have learnt a lot of useful things from it and I tend to hang on to it now just for Anxiety support blogs, the food blogs and the few friends I have made there, apart from that all the arguments and fights just tend to bring me down...

I would recommend not getting a Tumblr as nowadays as it is just turning into a place full of bullying and hate- The SJW blogs I used to follow have all been reduced to anti-white and anti-cishet, hate mongering blogs which should be avoided if you are white and/or a cishet or else you will just be attacked by them and their followers (happened to me when I added a comment on to one of their posts about anxiety sufferers?) which appear to be going against the whole idea of being a SJW... Seriously stick with a different website!

Yeah, I hear a lot about it. I'll try not to mix with the wrong crowd. I'm generally good at ignoring bullies.

Yeah, I'm not very good with bullies due to my Anxiety so I tend to get overly stressed by the smallest things. I think it does depend what you'll use your Tumblr for? Like I used mine originally for fandom and foody stuff but when I started looking at all the support blogs and SJW blogs I started to get bullied (from SJWs) and noticed the bullying more from talking to other neuroatypicals, so I guess if you struck with AC you'd be fine. But with your parents I'd say not to push it and wait to make an account...

Your parents are right about the fact that there's a lot of bullying on Tumblr, but you also get lots of bullying on Facebook too, and many other social media sites. Like, on Facebook, the best way to avoid bullying is just only add people you know, set up good privacy settings, etc... Just do that on Tumblr. For example: Turn off anon asks; only follow good, trustworthy, nice bloggers; block anyone who you are suspicious of and etc. Pretty straight forward, right? I mean, Tumblr is good and all but it isn't that good of a site in my opinion. I've been there for a while and it's mostly just a load of shut-in teenagers arguing over "OTPs", ridiculous "fandom" drama and also debating over things in which they have a skewed logic/idea of reality over. No joke. If you want to join Tumblr for the fanart and the Animal Crossing stuff, then do it! You could tell your parents that you've set up good privacy settings so there will be very little bullying possible and stuff. :3 You could also password protect your blog if you only want to let certain people see it, I mean sometimes it's nice having a private blog you can look at yourself. :) But as other people said, you are running the risk of having your parents find out. You don't need an account to access Tumblr, I don't believe. You could still look at fanart and posts on there too, despite not having an account. Maybe it's best you take a look for yourself first? ^^

This is so accurate.

tumblr is okay. not really worth losing everything for though. there are literal nazis on the site so i would probably wait a bit. (i want to throw up whenever i see them tbh) but tumblr has good people i guess? ive learned a lot of stuff from the site and there are lots of giveaways. im 13 and my parents dont really care.

mhmm idk who you follow but SJ blogs i follow are nice. some can be aggressive yes, but if they hear the same bs all the time i think its obvious why they would snap. idk you maybe said something bad (from what ive seen you seem pretty educated on some sj stuff) for them to get ticked off. if youre white or cishet you will see jokes about you or posts about you because they are venting. no white/cishet person gets attacked solely because theyre white/cishet. its probably because they said something offensive without realizing it.

For the correcting about Anxiety, the person had been sent an ask about common symptoms of Anxiety and they responded with a totally wrong list and went on a rant about how 'Anxiety isn't real', so I responded with a proper list and a small slap on the wrist comment for some ableist stuff- after that I was bombarded with asks saying I was wrong along with some really spiteful stuff which I deleted a shortly after cause it was stressing me out majorly. (All of which weren't on Anon as I always keep that off so I can block people)
With the cishet stuff it was mainly me directing people to some good support blogs (which online friends have showed me to educate me about what they go through) and then getting told to p*ss off as it wasn't my business by other people. (Though I really don't believe that 'cisphobia' exists, I'm just way too sensitive) I can understand the venting, I tend to do that too about Neurotypical people :/

As long as you don't get over involved in fandoms you should be fine. Tell that to your parents and maybe they'll let you make one?

Tbh there really isn't any bullying going on providing you don't go out of your way to piss people off
